employee turnover and creation of a strong employee branding. So that future competent
individuals can be attracted in the organisation.
Challenges associated with retaining and managing employees in Sainsbury’s
As per view points of Cassidy Jakovickas (2020), for many retail organisations there is need to
focus on retaining of effective and competent talent for long duration of time period. In some
instances it may lead to lot of challenges that can arise in the organisation. Such as there is lower
employee engagement that may affect the present employee functioning. Another challenge is no
presence of communication channels that can lead towards handling of employee grievances in
organisations (Jacobsen, 2020). Generally in case of medium and also in large sector
organisations there are instances where it is difficult to identify the problems faced by employees
because of no presence of communication channels. Apart from this there is no grievance
redressed committee that can help in handling instances of grievances among employees. High
turnover of employees is also a big challenge because generally there is higher competition in
retail sector as there are lot of different brands that are offering competitive perks benefits.
Monetary allowances to employees with better development opportunities. It leads to employee
urge to make fast switch between such organisations.
There is difficulty in retaining of employees and there is high cost associated with employee
turnover. In some instances the present technologies and procedures that are used by employers
are also outdated. There is no clarity about the vision statement of the organization that affects
the employee mindset. They are not having clarity of their job roles and responsibilities that
affects their level of performance in long run (Bailey and Burch, 2017). Apart from this they are
also facing difficulties in managing with high work load situations which carets a negative mind
set of employees. These are some of the commonly faced challenges in retail industry that affects
the process of retaining and managing of employees in the organisation (Clarke and Hoggett, .,
2019).
There are instances where the store changes results into difficulty in managing the overall
workforce in Sainsbury’s such as recently in year 2018 there are instances where the staff was
told about the plans to axe the role of department manager, deputy manager, store supervisor and
team leader. It is related with replacing deputies with smaller number of operations manager. It
created somewhat dissatisfaction among employees working in the existing job roles as there is
difficult to cope up with the changes that are arsing for the junior management staff (Denzin, .,

2017). It created a difficulty for combing the new job titles that were combined with the new
titles of trading manager and customers.
P2) Project management plan for the research
Project management plan is a plan that is related to different phases of a project. It is used for
facilitating a research in collecting, guiding and further monitoring of different activities that are
associated with a propjet work. Different components that are included in this plan are cost,
communication, scope, quality, resources and others. This plan is a value proposition of different
associated activities of project (Dorsten and Hotchkiss, 2018). These activities have to be
performed as per requirements of different roles & responsibilities that are to be allotted to
different individuals. The project administration map for present research report is mention
below:
Cost: For the point of conduct the study a researcher has to incur some of the company costs that
are related to procurement of resources (Boyle and Schmierbach, 2019). This required collecting
of information from sources, paying stipend to interns working on project, communication cost,
internet cost, travelling cost and other petty expenses associated with the propjet. All this cost is
explained as below:
Scope: It is the scope of undertaking the project with the project manager working at Sainsbury’s
so that there can be formulation of required strategies for managing the issues of talent
management process in the organisation (Paquot and Plonsky, 2017). It can assist in the process
of improving overall performance to manage employees
