Title- To assess an impact of gender inequality on the performance of employees in retail sector organization : A study on Tesco Background Gender discrimination refers to any action that particularly denies rewards, opportunities and privileges due to the gender. It is the practice of letting the person's gender in becoming a major factor at the time of deciding who will be receiving promotion or the job. The present studyisbasedonTesco,amultinationalretailercompanythatoperatesitsbusinessin superstores, retail outlet and grocery store (Heilman and Caleo,2018). It is seen as the third biggest retailer of British with having various outlets around Europe, Asia and USA. The report will throws a deeper insights towards the aims and objectives relating to research topic and also the reason behind choosing the topic regarding gender injustice. Furthermore, the study will highlight the major risk factors that to be considered while conducting the research report with its scope and the limitation. Rationale The major reason behind this study is to analyse existence of gender injustice within an organization in terms of unequal pay, social evils etc (De Paola and Scoppa,2015). This had become an important issue these days because of diversity in thinking and performing the task seems to be different in men and women. This gender injustice issue had given rise to various policies in an country aiming at gender inequality in relation to promotion, recruitment, salary and performance. The main purpose of this study is to document psychological process included in persistence of the gender injustice against the working women. ď‚·To recommend several measures in relation to elimination and the prevention of gender inequality Scope and limitations of the research study The scope of the study involves an assessment of the gender discrimination in the work environment of Tesco in terms of all its business functions, stores and an overall industry in which it operates its business. There present a chances of the positive response bias and not showing an interest in answering the question (Heilman and Caleo, 2018). However, in order to mitigate such bias sources, instruments were been pre-tested for improving reliability and the validitymeasures.Unansweredquestionsbytherespondentsforcancellationofthe questionnaire, staff survey that were not completed results in smaller sample than it is desired. Having more and more female workers who were chosen in developing understanding regarding the perception of the women workers and very little about the male employees (Bruce and et.al., 2015). On the other hand, having more number of male informants resulted in learning more about the male personnel perception with regards to equal opportunity, affirmative action and the sexual harassment.
