Introduction:
Every business project is the temporary attempt that a business makes in order to
initiate a new service for the customers. A business project plan includes a planned
start as well as a fixed end. Digital technology is an important part of every business
organisation. Using digital technology every organisation is able to reach out to
global market and bring innovations in the organisational structure. Digital
technology helps the business to increase product diversification. Project
management is defined as a process that uses different forms of knowledge and
techniques and plans and organises ways to achieve the desired goal. This
discussion sheds light on the question ‘How businesses have coped with the major
challenges of digital disruption and transformation’ and the company chosen for the
discussion is Tesco UK. This discussion will shed light on how Tesco is able to cop
up with the challenges of digital technology use or digital disruption.

[P2} Produce a project management plan that covers aspects of cost, scope,
time, quality, communication, risk and resources.
Project management plan:
Project: A project can be defined as collaboration of human beings and resource
materials to create and deliver a specific goal or plan. A project includes a firm and
definite structure with necessary resources to fulfil a certain aim. Projects can be
differentiated into large and small projects depending on the output and the amount
of labour and resource needed. A project management plan is implementing the
ideas and strategies to execute a project and the necessary resources that provide a
blue print of the task to be done (Kerzner and Kerzner 2017).
In this project, the main idea is to examine the influence and effect of digital media
on the business output of Tesco plc. Structured surveys and interviews has been
conducted in order to understand the parameters which are most affected by the
involvement of the digital innovation (Harrison and Lock 2017).
Scope of the project: The main idea of this project is to determine the parameters
and factors that affect the business output and the challenges Tesco plc has to face
while dealing with disruption and transformation of the digital technology (Tesco
2018).
There are certain planning strategies on which the project management plan is
made.
Timescale:
The amount of time required to conduct this research is 12 months.
A project management plan includes detailed structure of the aim of the project, the
strategies involved, the cost, scope, timeline, resources required and other
factors .The main parameters that have been covered in this management plan are
as follows:
Cost: The total cost of the project is 182,000 Pounds
Activity Work time(Hours) Total cost of the
plan (£)
Creating a firm structure of the project 70 10,000
Communication with the management and authority

Surveys: Initial cost on primary survey of the
members and employees of the company and
surveys conducted on a larger scale.
300 15,000
Analysis of the data collected 50 10,000

Quality Management:
Quality management looks into the matter of the factors that governs the beneficial
parameters, the structure and processes and the final outline of the output.
Quality management is made up of certain general characters: The quality planning
of the project, the control and the strategies, which help, improve the product (Akgün
et al ., 2014).
The whole idea of a project management plan is to provide a firm structure of
guidelines to the concerned researcher. The quality management plan helps create a
blue print of the tasks to be done in order to complete the research work. The quality
planning determines the processes that are to be conducted and the strategies to
follow it. There are certain values that the concerned organisation follows and the
research work shall be done keeping that in mind. The next factor is frequent
supervision and inspections, which examines the quality of work done. A specific
timescale has been mentioned and needs to be followed by the concerned
participants. In this project, Quality management will be implemented so that the
distribution of labour can be equal and wherever necessary and the funds can be
handled without hindrance.

efficiency of the workers, 20% believe there has been huge technical issues and the
rest 30% believe that implementation of digital media has compromised security of
the company.
Analysis of qualitative data:
Two managers from the management co-operated for a brief interview and from the
interview, it can be deduced that the first manager is highly in favour of
implementation of digital technology in the business procedures of Tesco. The
second manager interviewed also supports the advancements but recommends that
Tesco should introduce training procedures for the employees to learn about the new
technology. There should be regular training and development programmes, which
will enable the employees and the management to have clear access to the new
applications.
[P6] Communicate appropriate recommendations as a result of research and
data analysis to draw valid and meaningful conclusions.
With the incorporation of digital media and technology there have been huge
advancements in the business output. The public now is able to analyze and
compare products and can provide suggestions that Tesco should consider for the
betterment of its product. However, there are certain critical factors that need to be
analysed while implementing the technological advancements There has been cases
where there has been a breach of data and information and this is a serious issue
that needs to be addressed soon. Factors like this and other factors, which can affect
the business procedures, needs to be dealt with. (Glaser and Strauss 2017).
Digital advancements are transparent and are vulnerable to internet bugs. There
could be serious security issues while installing these technologies inside the
system. Regular software updates and data backups can reduce the risks of security
breach. Installation of advanced password protected applications makes the
company data and logs more secure. The employees have suggested that Tesco
should provide routine training and development processes for the employees so
that they are able to adapt to the changes made in the system ( Fitzgerald et al .,
2014).
The report provides the outline of the impact digital media and technology has made
on the business procedures of Tesco and the necessary changes the company has
to make in order to prevent any kind of future risk to the company ( Westerman et
al .,. 2016).

LO4: Reflect on the value gained from conducting the project and its
usefulness to support sustainable organisational performance.
[P7] Reflect on the value of undertaking the research to meet stated objectives
and own learning and performance
The project has helped me to gain understanding about digital technology. From the
conducted research I came to know that digital technology has helped business in
many ways. I came to know that digital technology not only enhances organisational
structure but it also contains some threats that can hamper the good will of the
company. I have chosen this topic to get a brief understanding about how digital
technology or digital disruption impacts or challenges a business organisation. At the
initial stage of this project, I had ascertained some objectives, which I had desired to
fulfil with the completion of the project. Through this project, I am able to identify the
challenges that a researcher faces during research. Due to this project I have gained
control over my management skills and I have also brushed my analytical skills as I
had to undertake few research methods, techniques and tools in order to collect
relevant data. Through this project I found out how a business expands its services
globally and how it helps the company with innovative ideas.
Before this project I did not have a clear idea about project management but while
working on this project I came to know about the concept of project management
and gained knowledge about preparing a project management plan. Risk analysis
has made me aware of the quite possible risks that can create problems in a project.
The project has helped me to work on my strategic skills. The best contribution that
the project had on me was improvement of my research skills. From the project I
have understood that, storing of data in a proper way is very important for every
organisation. After completing the project, I hope that this will help me to work more
efficiently in future projects with various scopes that failed to accomplish in this
project. From the research I understood that there are few negative impacts of digital
media. The Threats of using digital technology in business includes loss or leak of
important company information, which is very important for every organisation. I was
able to gather all the relevant data using few techniques and has helped me
enhance my analytical skills for future. Research work is basically the continuous
process that comes up with relevant information. In order to conduct a proper
research I had to overcome the challenges of getting the exact data and information.
