INTRODUCTION
Managing a business project include stages like initiation, planning, execution of plan as
well as taking significant control measures in order to attain the significant objective of business.
It basically provides the opportunity where project manager can display their skill and take the
significant action which can help the business to attain the objective by making the optimum
utilisation of natural as well as financial resources (Bartlett, Doz and Hedlund, 2013). For the
better understanding of report H&M company has been selected which is the multinational retail
company that deals in the clothing of different categories including men, women and kids. The
headquarter of company is in Sweden and offer the large choices of the apparel in both national
and international boundaries. The objective of company is to mak the product available in each
and every corner of the global market. This report cover following topics like the aim, objective
as well as time frame required for a project. Conduct small scale research that include
information gathering and collection of data in order to support the project. Moreover, present
the project as well as communication appropriately along with suggestion and meaningful
conclusion of the project. Reflect on value to conduct the research and meet the overall objective
of an organisation are covered in this report (Polonsky and Waller, 2018).
TASK 1
P1: Aims and objectives of the project
Globalisation lead to the integration or interconnection of national market with the global
economy for the easy transport of goods and services. It has eliminated the barrier amongst
various geographical areas and bring multiple countries together in order to formulate global
economy to enhance interpersonal relationship by imposing low amount of tariff (Basu, 2017).
With the increased pace of globalisation has accelerated the development of effective
communication, various mode of transportation. Along with that rise in social media sites has
encouraged the company to communicate the value to the prospectus and interact with them in
virtual world. In relation with H&M company due to globalisation can access the huge market
because of which they get the benefit of economies of scale through which company can cater
huge market demand of the customer (Opelt and Mittermayr, et.al., 2013). Along with that H&M
company needs to constantly pay attention to their manpower which is their main asset for which
the company can enhance their HR cycle which include programme like recruitment, selection

and training. This helps the company to select most suitable aspirant which will do justice with
the vacancy by constant growth and development of an employee.
Aim: “To analyse the function of multinational company by improving the human
resources planning that include certain essential programmes like recruitment, selection as well
as training in order top meet the international standard”.
As H&M operate globally due to which it provide employment opportunity to huge
number of candidate for the smooth functioning of business (DeCenzo, Robbins and Verhulst,
2016). So by looking after recruitment, selection and training function the company can attain
the international standard wisely.
Objective:
To determine the integration of both on job and off job training into the employees
training programme to improve the efficiency in order to meet international standard of
HRM.
To ascertain the application of internal and external recruitment method on the basis of
which multinational company can hire the best possible aspirant to attain the international
standard.
To determine the productive ways by which an organisation can improve its recruitment,
selection and training method to gain overall growth and development.

How on and off the job training programme can help to enhance the efficiency of
personnel in order to attain the international targets ?

P2: Produce the project management plan
Project: Project helps in the preparation of systematic plan which consist of multiple task
that help the business to conduct the activities significantly to gain long term success effectively.
It basically benefit the organisation to gain the opportunity that exist in the international market
and offer value to the ultimate user (Dutta and Bose, 2015).
Current project: In the existing project of H&M company the project manager is
responsible to articulate the method which multinational organisation can use to enhance their

recruitment and selection cycle which hiring the new employee. Additionally, training and
development method that assist the organisation to cater international requirement. Preparation
of such project involve various stages that is defined below:
Cost: It is the overall expenditure that investigator has to make on various activities such
as research material or equipment. The cost usually differ from one project to another like
current or existing project require £130 amount to conduct research work.
Scope: H&M is one of the largest companies that has employed over one lac employees
in more than sixty countries (Glukhov, Ilin and Levina, 2015). The company constantly accept
the changes and diversify its business. In relation to the current project serve broader scope as it
include improvement on HR cycle to meet the global standard of H&M company.
Time: Time can be the deadline which is assigned to perform the task thus the researcher
needs to have the idea regarding the task and how long will it take to accomplish the target.
Current project require approximately three months in order to gain successive result.
Quality: Quality is an essential element of research as the overall result of the project
and long term achievement of goal depend upon this aspect. Thus, the quality can be maintained
by selecting the proper method of investigation and conducting each and every process carefully.
Communication: It refer to the transfer of message with the help of effective medium.
This lead to adequate flow of information among the researcher and its internal and external
stakeholder such as team mates (Hillson, 2017). Proper flow of communication helps to maintain
the transparency and better understanding about the topic so that the objective is attained by the
investigator within specific time frame. Within current project investigator can select several
platform such as email, video conferencing and direct face to face interaction in order to convey
the message effective .
Risk: At time it becomes complicated for the researcher to manage the human resource
effective and store it wisely because there exist the treat of privacy breach describes the structure
and culture of the organisation you have been involved with this semester. Additionally, as the
technology constantly changes so it becomes riskier for company to remain updated about the
new technology because it may give competitive advantage to the competitor of company.
Resource: All the resources used in current project whether it is related to the use of
technology or fund required for research work needs to be utilised effectively in order for the

achieve the objective effectively and efficiently. With the proper management of resources
minimise the unnecessary cost of company and leads to long term sustainable development.
P3: Work breakdown structure and Gantt chart
Work breakdown structure: It is a complex structure that has multi level of steps in
order to do the project. It simply break down the large project into the smaller ones to maintain
the effectiveness of project and get the work done faster (Jeston, 2014). Thus, WBS is in form of
tree structure which is hierarchical in order that helps to manage the individual task by breaking
it into various sub tasks. Herein, H&M organisation can use respective structure to manage the
overall project and lead the whole team into desirable manner for the better productivity and
easier way to handle the whole project effectively and within desirable period of time. For
instance, the project manager in order to fulfil the objective of current project focuses on the
deliverable that is the subtask or work packages elements (Nicholas and Steyn, 2017). Thus, it
provide the advantage to the multinational organisation by determining the deadline of project
and schedule the task to mitigate the risk and track the performance on the regular basis.

Gantt chart: It is a horizontal chart that depict graphical illustration of task in order to
plan and coordinate the task required for the preparation of desirable project. It was developed by
the Henry L. Gantt that is used to assess and plan out the project on the basis of effective
utilisation of resources in order to manage the task successfully. Thus, Gantt chart is the practical
presentation where the left side of chart include the activities that need to be performed by the

H&M organisation. Whereas, the top of chart displays the time duration that is allotted to
conduct each and every task of the activities (Lakhani, Kuruvilla and Avgar, 2013). The main
benefit that the H&M organisation can get by using Gantt chart is that it will help the company to
track the task performed while proceeding the resources and managing the resources adequately.

P4. Research Methods including qualitative and quantitative
Research methodology: It refer to the systematic method that help the business to carry
on the research part effectively as well as efficiently (Sparrow, 2012)(. It consist of qualitative as
well as quantitative method that help the business to attain desirable outcome which is not
biased ans saves the cost and time of researcher. The explanation of these method is defined
below:
Quantitative method: This kind of research involves the data which is in numeric form
and can assist the investigator to carry out the research by participating effectively in order to
carry on the research. It is an accurate method to conduct the research that help to solve the
critical problem faced by the firm (Lientz and Rea, 2016).
Qualitative research: It is more theoretical part which involve the concept and
information that is used to carry on the research. It gives new direction or guidance to the

researcher which observe the behaviour of an individual and maintain the human experience
successfully.
Data Collection: Data collection is a desirable method that help the firm to collect and
analyse the data to order to sole the business problem successfully (Lund-Thomsen and
Lindgreen, 2014). It consist of different method that is defined below:
Primary data: Here the researcher collects the information without depending upon any
other data due to which it is considered the original or first hand data. To better understand the
research problem, investigator design the questionnaire, conduct interview and observe other to
fulfil the objective of research (Matinheikki and et.al., 2016). The current project report is based
on the primary research which include questionnaire of 40 respondent which are selected on the
basis of random sampling method.
Secondary data: Within secondary research the investigator may use the primary
information like website, books, article and so on to better deal with the research problem
and publish it successfully.
