In this report it covers the aim and objective of John lewis as it is the leading chain department throughout the country and also planning for globalisation. In this researchit covers the project management plan which is the formal document which consist of various factor such as resources, communication, cost, risk etc.Further in these research report it has highlighted the wbs and Gantt chart which help the research in proper planning. This researchalsoincludesvariousresearchmethodologieswhichhelptocollectandgather information. P1 Aim and objective Globalisation is the process of interacting with other countries, government worldwide. It is the complex process. It is grown due to advance technology. Also, it defines how the project will control, closed and monitor. And for making the project plan it necessary to measure the cost, quality, risk assessment. It is responsibility of project manager to make effective plan as well as work in the proper direction.
Cost–Thisreferstoexpenseswhicharedirectlylinkedwiththedevelopmentand implementation of investigation procedure and project. In context of research the main cost is incurred with collection of data, facts and figures with respect to the topic of the research project. The major expenses related to the research project are printing expenses, communication cost, salaries and of project managers and team members within John Lewis. The other cost involves purchasing equipment. The estimated cost for the present research study around 20000$. This Budget is developed by scholar considering all expenses in previous studies. (Sheikh and Sultana, 2016). Scope –The scope of research defines the keymilestones which are to be obtained. Present researchonethical, culturalandeconomicimpactofglobalisationonvariousfunctions performedinJohnLewis, hasawidescopetoexamineandunderstandtheimpactof globalisation on business activities(Silverman, 2016). Time– It is one of the most important element of project plan, time schedule which includes of the period within which particular activity is needed to be accomplished. Communication – It is considered to be a major element of project management plan. An effective communication is very essential in order to avoid repetition or overlapping of tasks and prevent wastage of resources. It also helps to conduct the research in the effective manner. It is useful in developing clarity within projects by inserting multiple tasks & timelines in a single document. P 4 Research methods Research methodology is the technique used to collect information and data which help to make business decision. Research methodologies may include interview, surveys, publication, historical information etc. There are various tools and techniques of research methodology.
Research philosophies –it is basically a belief in which data about the phenomenon should be use and analysed. It helps to develop the knowledge. Research philosophies are two types that is interpretivism and positivism both have different characteristics. Interpretivism is a form of qualitative methodology(Kumar, 2019.). This tool studies the behaviour in order to gather information about subject matter. On the other hand positivism is a philosophy depend upon quantifiable observation that leads to statistical examine. In positivism the scholar has to develop the hypotheses. There are two types research approach first one is inductive and second one is deductive. In inductive is a qualitative method that identify themes by examine document, recording and other materials. And the second one is deductive approach, based on the hypotheses and based on exiting theory and also called “top down” approach. In this study the approach use is inductive approach which is qualitative in nature and also it is most suitable approach for gathering information about globalisation on business function of John lewis. Research design –It refers to the strategy choose to compound the different components of the study for the accumulation, measuring and examine of data. And it also helps to find answers to the research questions (Vagle, 2018).In this study the researcher will apply the descriptive research design which helps in describing each element in detail which helps to gather information globalisationabout business functions which helps to complete the projects and achieving the objectives if the John Lewis. Data collection –itis the process of collecting or assemblagethe information from various sources to get the accurate information. It is very important to collect the accurate information. Data analyses –Data analyses is a process of transforming and inspecting with the goal and discovering information that support or helps in decision making. Researcher has applied the thematic technique which help in taking decision more accurately. Ethical consideration –Ethical consideration is one of the major aspect that need to be consider in the research project. P7 REFLECTION The research on the impact of globalisation was a great experience for me as it helped me to identify my strengths and weaknesses in conducting a research. I faced main difficulty in framing aims and objectives of this research (Bresler and Stake, 2017). I also found it challenging to select most appropriate research methods for conducting the research. I have learned the various research methodology use in the project such as research philosophies, data collection, sampling, ethical consideration etc. I finally selected descriptive research design, primary and secondary data collection methods to gather useful information related to the topic. In addition to this, the best part of this research project was conducting primary research. It was a great experience which helped me to collect useful information in the project also improved my communication skills. I successfully completed this project on the given deadline by using different resources such as books, internet etc. The above research reflects to identify the economic, political impact of the globalisation and how it effects on the business. I also learned that from the above research the objectives of the research are to identify the benefit of the globalisation and expand the business and with these above data it will help John Lewis in expanding its business in different functional units. CONCLUSION From the above research it is concluded that globalisation is the wide concept in which business interact with other country. And it is famous in worldwide. In above research report there are many strategies of research methodologies is use such as research philosophies, research approach, sampling, data collection, ethical consideration and also in there report data analyses taken into account. By the help of Gantt chart and wbs it helps the research project in proper planning. And also provided various recommendation that help to fulfil the objective of the research report.
