INTRODUCTION
Accommodation services are the services that is provided by the company to satisfy the
requirements of the customers. These services provides the safety and security to the travellers
who doesn't know or unaware about the new places. It also helps the tourists to explore the
different areas and fulfil there desire in an effective manner (Abed, 2019). These services
influences the holidays trips into more adventure and enhances the overall experience of
travelling in an efficacious manner. This report is based on managing accommodation services of
hotel South Lodge, UK that is founded in 1985 by James Hodges. This report covers different
roles and functions of housekeeping department and importance of linen stock. Furthermore,
describes the importance of interrelationship between the housekeeping and other departments
and scheduling maintenance and security. Also includes the different role of maintenance plays
in accommodation services.

Housekeeping department is the major and operational department of the hotel that
manages the cleanliness, aesthetics maintenance of rooms, free areas, infrastructure, surrounds,
maintenance and back areas as well. The efforts that has been put by the housekeeping
department reflects the performance and values of the company. There are different functions
and roles of housekeeping department as there works reflects the positive experience of the
customers (Chen, 2018). The major aim and objectives of the hotels that provides the
accommodation services is to provides the best, clean, attractive and comfortable services to the
customers. South Lodge hotel provides the best and hygiene services to their customers and that
is the major aspect with that they get a lot of success on continuous basis. The organisational
chart of housekeeping shows the different works that is performed by them and that is as
explained below as:
