INTRODUCTION
Accommodation is an important or essential part of the hospitality
industry, ranging from bed & breakfast enterprise and hotels to
other facilities that offer lodging services.

HOUSEKEEPING DEPARTMENT
 Housekeeping is a department that defined as the provision
of a clean, comfortable and safe environment.
 In Hilton, it is an operational department that is responsible
for cleanliness, maintenance, aesthetic upkeep of rooms,
back area, public area and surroundings.

STRUCTURE IN HOUSEKEEPING
DEPARTMENT
 Executive level- The executive is responsible for ensuring
that every every department accomplish its task.
 Manger level- They are responsible for specific areas of a
hotel, for example; account manager is responsible for
managing the cash and the budget of the hotel.

 Guest room attendants- They are the important or rank and
file employees that are responsible to clean room and
provide room services to the guests.
 Laundry attendants- Laundry room attendants are
responsible for washing towels, napkins, tablecloths,
employee uniforms and make ensure hat these items are
ironed or folded for restocking.

KEY ROLES IN HOUSEKEEPING
DEPARTMENT
 It help on establish a welcoming atmosphere and ensure
courteous or reliable services from all staff of the
department.
 It provide linen in rooms, banquet hall, restaurants,
conference venues and health clubs and maintain inventory
for the same.

 To provide uniforms all the staff and cater to the laundering
requirements of the hotel linen and guest clothing.
 To ensure the safety and security regulations are made
known to all staff of the department.

CONCLUSION
From the above presentation, it can be concluded the various
types of accommodation services which are available
within hospitality industry. Key roles of housekeeping
department and their interrelati0on is discussed in terms
of managing the accommodation services within the
hotel.
