FINAL REFLECTION2 Final Reflection The managing and leading project teams have been a significant learning expertise and proficiency for me. The team has equipped me with an opportunity or chance of increasing my awareness in the leadership arena. I have precisely become conversant with the meaning of leadership through the team. For example, Northouse (2015), defines leadership as a unique approach to influencing other persons to realize or achieve a given goal. As such, I have known that leadership does not necessarily encompass specific characteristics or innate traits or inborn characteristic found in individuals. Additionally, I learned that an organization must be bolstered or strengthened my leadership skills and better managerial skills for the accomplishment of its outlined goals. I learned that the management levels in any organization must include project managers. Organizational project managers are compelled in opting for appropriate and relevant leadership skills and designs in regards to the business setting, goals, and culture. In the same token, I learned numerous leadership theories and styles, such autocracy and transformational, which outline the characteristics of leadership as well as leadership development skills. I noticed that the leadership theories and styles have helped in developing leadership skills and have been the reason for leadership for many centuries. Apart from organizational culture, I also learned that the system which encompasses essential norms, beliefs, and values is also established within an organizational leadership (Tuan, 2010). It is important to note that the behavior of the staff or employees aids in providing a psychological feature map which would help in highlighting organizational context and setting as well as the choice of mechanisms for the employees to execute or perform work or actions. Additionally, I learned that there are rules and routines in leadership or an organization. The rules and routines play a critical role in establishing organizational norms and behaviors especially at work (Frost, 2018).
FINAL REFLECTION3 In this regards, organizational customs, rituals, norms, as well as the underlying assumptions, are significant. Subsequently, I learned that communication also plays a significant role in organizational leadership. A leader should be someone who is able to communicate effectively to help the organization accomplish its intended goals. A leader must also be able to mutually convince the employees and be good decision-maker. I recommend that the project managers ought to be prestigiously productive in leading as well management. The leading and managing teams should first analyze their virtual environment and groups who would support their leadership approaches. They should also characterize some of the essential issues and problems which might occur in their leadership. And finally, they should adjust appropriately in order to associate or relate to the acceptable leadership fashion or vogue. On the other hand, according to Keegan and Den Hartog (2004), the leadership design within the transformational and overall behavior is principally an important singular component which inspires novelty as well as better job performance in the organizations in the same vein, Kissi, Dainty, and Tuuli (2013), advocate that project portfolio leaders should follow transformational style; for boosted performance. As a result, I knew that transformational and transactional leadership style to facilitate cooperation and collaboration within the leadership vogue. Collaboration and co0peration would right away contribute to the project team's success resulting in the leaders’ success. Taking part in this course has enabled me to gain how the leadership profile tool to works out the strength and weakness experienced in any institution. I have also learned how the leadership profile tool produces the actions arranged for leadership developments as well as incessant improvement.
FINAL REFLECTION4 However, it is vital to note that the course failed to supply or provide specific sensible and critical data. It also failed to offer better exposure in regards to the topic. As such, I would like to add few things in the module, such as the importance of leadership, to help the students to propose and analyze real-life scenarios and apply their skills to tackle the scenarios.
