INTRODUCTION.
The event management industry is large industry which is having huge impact on companies and
hospitality industry. The management of events is about organizing a perfectly systematic and
synchronized planned event for targeted audience. It is a multi core industry hosting mega shows
and events according to demands and recent trend of economy. The report is in context with
management of conference and events in hospitality industry. There is continuous growth of
events and conference as they are huge part in hotels. In this report different dimensions and
categories of events will be discussed along with managerial skills required for successful
completion of events.

The management of events in hotel industry is regarded as the integral aspects in improving the
quality of events organized according to expectation of customer or target audience.
Different categories of events
Wedding events- the event's organize in this category have list of sub events that is organized in
hotel. There is requirement of skills in setting up venue, floral arrangement and music shows and
many more efforts to make the occasion more memorable.
Corporate events.- in the corporate events there is arrangement of seminars, conferences, debates
product launch, promotional events and award ceremonies (Van Der and George, 2015). For the
proper completion of these events in hotel there is requirement of proper arrangement of
presentation material to follow their protocol. This all includes the knowledge about the
requirement of events with prearrangement, hotel accommodation and transportation.
Commemorative events- the public events are organized for promotion of government and non
government official or even memorials. For organizing these events there is requirement of
theme planning, entertainment and catering. There should be development of interpersonal skills
to bring coordination.
Dimension of events
There are major six dimension of events management-

Anticipation- The anticipation of a particular event enclose marketing and communication skills .
There should be proper designing of invite so that it can build excitement and fulfill the
expectation.
Arrivals- The arrival dynamics should be safe, efficient and be important part in overall
expedience of event.
Atmospheres- there should be selected and developed decision in term of location, layout and

the recent trends that affecting the event sector -
Destination wedding- the recent trends in wedding nowadays is about destination wedding. It
means setting up of wedding somewhere away from the home town. It is huge challenging task
for event management company to cope up with the challenge of destination wedding. It became
a difficult task to for event company to organize a hazel free event.
The food to watch out for- food makes a weeding day worth. Nowadays the biggest trend is
serving organismic foods across wedding. The planners used to buy the produce of organic farm
in large bulks which turns out to be cheap with fantastic quality.
Corporate events

Conference and meeting
Nowadays the white collared sophisticated corporate meeting are changing which
everything from styling the room to engagement of attendee. There are some recent trends are-
Creative meeting design of room- now a stuffy ballroom with endless chairs and small stage had
become part of outdated days (Teutsch and et.al, 2019). The conference rooms are now stylish,

There are many managerial roles and responsibilities in the development of event
management such the role of-
Event Manager- People who organize and run for the management of event is termed as event
manger. They have charge of whole management of event. They will be given credit, if
something happen right or vice versa.
Convention Manager- they are person who enjoys planning convention along with planning of
logistic and choosing of location for the event management.
Catering Manager-They are the one who leads the team of chefs and catering assistants. They
work in management of events in hotel, restaurant and resorts(Rogers and Davidson, 2015). They
monitor the quality of food and keeping the eye of service outlets.

Responsibilities
There should be development of effective relation so that team building and networking
can be done between vendors and venues. The stakeholders of events should effectively
communicate with team management so that minimum disruption can be there (Nieves and
Segarra-Ciprés, 2015). The team should perform the risk assessment and contingency planning to
meet the goal and objective along with maximization of profit and stakeholders satisfaction.
Manager should hold invoices along with financial statement and report so that transparency can
be maintained. The manger of the event should also perform the promotional actives for the
business such as the social events so that they could increase in goodwill of the company.

providing of safe revenue consist of following activities such as-
Visit of venue site and appraisal.
Risk assessment- there should be the practice of identifying the potential hazards that have the
chance that could take place nay time in between event (Hopkin, 2018). It also helps the planners
to prepare for emergency and ensure safety.
Contingency planning for risk management.- it is also the plan of risk assessment which help in
execution at the time of risk. There should be effective planning for each segment so that there
can be reduction in risk exposure.
Signage and orientation.

There should be the planning of signage in events for that proper scheduling and understanding
of events about the proper programmed activities.
Providing safe and environment for guest
The proper management so the security should be there in the conduction of events so that the

effective work can be performed.
