INTRODUCTION
Managing enterprise can be considered as a process, which helps a company's owner in
running the operations in much effective and efficient manner. Within the health and social care
industry, it can be said that for an organisation it has became much more vital to manage the
overall operations so that service can be provided to clients as per their needs and requirements
as well. Organisation, which has been taken into consideration in present report i.e. St Johns Hill
Healthcare. Assignment is going to cover, nine key aspects of the Social, Cultural and Economic
determinants, impacts on Maori culture in New Zealand and four types of corporate cultures.
Lastly, assessment will put light on hospital's culture relating to one corporate culture.
QUESTIONS
1. Nine key aspects of the Social, Cultural and Economic determinants
In present time, it has been identified that there are nine key aspects of the Social,
Cultural and Economic determinants within the mental health unit of health and social care
sector of New Zealand, which St. Johns Hill Healthcare needs to focus while managing all the
operations and at the time of serving medical services to it's clients (St Johns Hill Healthcare,
2019). A famous hospital in New Zealand offering it's clients with all the medical and health
related services. Basically, the hospital has been dealing with high range of issues, due to
mismanagement Dam, H. K., Lê, L. S., and Ghose, A. (2016). This impacted negatively upon
overall performance level of St. Johns Hill Healthcare, while serving to it;s clients. It has been
found that, within the mental health unit of healthcare industry of New Zealand, there are nine
key aspects which are required to be understood by St. Johns Hill Healthcare to understand, that
are linked with social, economic and cultural determinants and these are given beneath: Income and social status – It has been analysed that this is one of the crucial aspect of
economic determinant, which plays a crucial role for mental health unit of St. Johns Hill
Healthcare. As, higher the income and social status, it will lead to better health. Here, this
hospital do not believes in discriminating among poor and rich service users with equal
services, within the hospital (The determinants of health, 2019). Education – Another crucial aspect, which is connected with social determinant and if it
is talked about St. Johns Hill Healthcare, hospital recruited service providers like CRNA,
Nurse, healthcare providers who has completed their course with distinction. This made

mental health department of St. Johns Hill Healthcare to provide information to patients
with medication procedure and how it will benefit to a patient. Physical environment Clean air, safe houses, healthy workplaces, roads, and
communities that are basically contributing towards good health. If it is talked about
mental health department's people in St. Johns Hill Healthcare, they are much healthier if
it is compared with other hospitals that are serving particularly to patients dealing with
mental issues. Water and Sanitation – St. Johns Hill Healthcare, has a much effective drainage system,
which helps them in enhancing their waste management system. Through this, hospital
has maintained it's social determinant, which has given them an opportunity of enhancing
the service quality within the mental health department. Social support networks Greater support from friends, families along with the
communities is basically linked with much more better health Hillson, (2016). Culture,
customs and traditions and the beliefs of family and community all affect health that are
dealing at St. Johns Hill Healthcare. Genetics - Inheritance plays a part in determining lifespan, healthiness and the likelihood
of developing certain illnesses. This is said to be one of the crucial cultural aspect, in
which this organisational culture believes in, while treating to the patients at St. Johns
Hill Healthcare. Health services - St. Johns Hill Healthcare, this is being considered as an access and use
of services, which prevents and treatments regards to disease influences health as well.
Gender - Women and Men, suffer from different types of diseases at different ages. If it
is talked about St. Johns Hill Healthcare, hospital has followed all the rules and
regulations in regards to discriminating, race, gender and so on.
2. Impacts on Maori culture in New Zealand in relation to two chosen key aspects of Social,

Economic determinants. Basically, Maori people or the community of this culture basically goes
through heavy range of health related issues. Here, income could be considered as one of the
crucial factor. Since, Maori culture does not generate high income, this mainly impacts upon
their both social and culture Lee, D., and Shatsky, (2016). According to …, on an average, after-
tax household related income got declined. This took place, in between the year of 1981 and
1993 where both Pacific households and Maori got affected immensely in a negative sense. It
can be said that, the link among both ill health along with the poverty are clear enough, as they
are connected to each other. It can also be said that, money related most noticeably off
experience the most noteworthy paces of disease and unexpected passing. Here, it can be said
that, higher payment leads to imbalance inside society may likewise be related with expanded by

interconnected world the cultural adaptability is consist of both key skill and personal
commitment for any leader of business organization. In context to business organizations like St.

as it helps and influence their employees in serving much more patients in specified time period
form existing one. In addition to this, the Adaptability Culture has four basic levels which help in
understanding the path to cultural adaptability, the levels are Cultural Awareness, Cultural
Knowledge, Cultural Sensitivity and Cultural Adaptability Lee, George, and Oliver, (2016). St.
Johns Hill Healthcare and many more other health organizations like this are adopting this with a
effective manner and it, will give high attention to business performance, but low attention to
values of their company.
Involvement Culture: This type of corporate culture emphasizes on internal focuses on
the involvement of strategic focuses and participation the employees is flexible and can adopt
rapidly to change needs form environment. In also focuses on high value in achieving the needs
of employees. This culture provides caring, atmosphere like family which is beneficial for both
employees as well as for St. Johns Hill Healthcare and many other business organizations within
the health and social care department. Along with this, they considered both worker and service
users of St. Johns Hill Healthcare and many more business firms like this, will help in avoiding
the status and position difference. In addition to this, while managing the high performance
culture for employees the top level management of companies like St. Johns Hill Healthcare
may go out of the business track and they little emphasis on their result as well as values.
Achievement Culture: The achievement culture helps the management of St. Johns Hill
Healthcare and many more business firms in creating the happy & healthy working environment
for their employees. As this helps in focusing on developing effective strategies and also helps in
identifying as well as fulfilling the need and requirements of their environment. While managing

culture is very effective as they give high attention to values and low to the business performance

Henceforth, it is being formulated that taking in use of or adopting involvement culture, a
business firm within the health and social care department could effectively gain competitive
advantages. Along with this, it would also lead the firm in serving patients that are dealing with
patients with both severe and others types of illness.
4. Culture relating to one of the four corporate cultures identified
Considering the information, which has been presented above it can be said that the
business firm is dealing with all the issues considering the involvement culture. This is directly
helping St. Johns Hill Healthcare in meeting all the requirements of their patients. Along side
this, it can also be said that, giving authority to nurses and other healthcare providers in decision
making could directly helped in various ways Oham, and Macdonald, (2016). Basically, it has
given high range of benefits like management of St. Johns Hill Healthcare has enhanced it's own
productivity, improvisation of morale, increased adoption rates, cost and time savings, more and
better teamwork, gaining trust of staff members and more minds, more ideas, different angles.
This has given high range of benefits to the business organisation while serving to
patients that were dealing with mental health related issues. On the other hand, it can also be said
that a firm like St. Johns Hill Healthcare should take into consideration of employees, as they are
the one who are dealing with the issues that patients with mental health related issues Maskell,
Baggaley, and Grasso, (2017). Therefore, it can easily be said that this would help St. Johns
Hill Healthcare in maintaining the overall business environment, where they will be factors that
will stay present like motivation, equality and so on.
CONCLUSION
With the help of above mentioned report, it is being concluded that having an effective
corporate culture within a business organisation, could lead the firm to attain specific goals and
objectives in specified time frame. On the other side, it can also been summarised that for a
