INTRODUCTIONKnowledge management is a process of creating, using, sharing and managing theknowledge of an organization and this is considered as disciplinary approach or action to achievethe goals and targets by utilization of collected knowledge. The information system is the“information and communication technology” which is used by the organizations to support thebusiness procedures. This assessment is evaluating the knowledge of Tesco which is one of thelargest retailer multinational company. This assessment is explaining the importance of theknowledge and information to achieve the organization goals. Utilization of organizationalinformation and knowledge to set the long term goals and achieve them with in the time line isexplained in the assessment. Further the use of radio frequency identification its efficiency andeffectiveness is assessed through this assessment.MAIN SECTIONImportance of Knowledge ManagementKnowledge management is the disciplinary action which is used to promote the approachto identify the information then collect it for evaluation and classified it in integrated manner toutilize it to achieve the company's long term goals. For the productive and innovative workingenvironment the management of knowledge is important and for this Tesco use differenttechnology for convenience (Laudon and Laudon, 2015). By using technology informationcollection, evaluation and implementation is easy.There are many reasons to state the importance of the knowledge management. At thetime employee need information and resources then the information can be provided easily and iteasy to accessible for employees. The information stays safe even after the employee leaves theorganisation. Through the information duplication is not possible. By using this information orknowledge the organisation can easily utilize the possibilities and capabilities that company ishaving. The procedures followed by the Tesco becomes more effective and productive.Necessity of the knowledge managementThe knowledge management is necessary for the organization for the better utilization ofinformation. Information and knowledge management can help the organisation to achieve thelong term goals and also helps to improve the current procedures to achieve the predefinedtargets.1
