Communication and the self-assessment are the most valid tools that might help in the
management of the people. The following essay deals with the factors that pertain to the
everchanging nature of the concerned human beings as discussed by Dan Gilbert in his Ted
Talk. The paper discusses the ways in which the messages conveyed by the speaker might be
linked to the other various concepts of the communication that might be used in order to help
in the matters that pertain to the management of the people including the self.
Analysis of key message/s
Gilbert (2018) in his famous lecture on the Ted Talks entitled “The Psychology of
Your Future Self” tends to discuss the various factors that are related to the matters that
pertain to the common fallacy that is depicted by the majority of the human beings. The
eminent psychologist argues that the people who have been living all over the world tend to
consider the fact that they would retain the same conditions that they have been undergoing at
the given time of study. The psychologist argues that this belief of the people is not true in
the real world. The psychologist tends to focus on the changes that a concerned person might
face in the matters that pertain to the changes in the surroundings of the person. The
psychologist further argues that the person concerned might be affected by both the internal
and the external environment that surrounds the person. The psychologist through the
insightful discussion attempts to put forth the fact that time has been a huge constraint in the
matters that are related to the attempts that are undertaken for the prediction of the future of
the concerned human being. The psychologist states that the changes in the human being
might be evident with the changes as per the time schedule in the organization. The

that the person has been subjected to and the other people who have been surrounding the

examination of the interactions that might occur among the personal values of a certain
person and the various situations and contexts within the concerned organization in order to
deal with the factors that might influence the behavioral exchanges of the concerned
employees of the organization. The article tends to figure out the fact that the relationship that
existed among the various members of the innovative behaviors within the organization and
the values of the self-direction of the employees could be moderated with the formalization
within the organization. The authors of the article recommend the fact that the concerned
organization should recruit the employees who bear values that are in line with the set of
values that are maintained within the organization.
Development of knowledge on managing people
As put forth by Dan Gilbert, the eminent psychologist, the people who have been
living all over the world tend to consider the fact that they would retain the same conditions
that they have been undergoing at the given time of study. However, this belief of the people
is not true in the real world. The major area that needs to be focused on are the changes that a

person might need to be aware of the various ways in which the behavior of the concerned

refer to the time constraint that might be affecting the concerned person. In case of the
management of the members of the workforce of a certain organization, the concerned
official might need to judge the values that the concerned person might need to abide by and
the relevancy that they bear to the values that are maintained within the organization in
discussion.
Conclusion
Thus, in lieu of the above discussion, it might safely be concluded that the changes
that might take place within the organization might be related to the changes in the behavior
of the concerned employees. The management of the concern might be advised to recruit the
employees who bear values that are in line with the set of values that are maintained within
the organization.
