INTRODUCTION
Managing people can be defined as the process of providing specific training, motivation
and direction to the newly joined employees so that overall productivity of the whole
organisation could be increased (Baruch and Vardi, 2016). It is mainly focused with overseeing
workflow and boosting employee performance on regular basis. The organisation which is
selected for this project is Arcadia Merchandise Company and the job description which is used
for this project is Administration Assistant. This assignment covers various topics such as a
cover letter, appropriately targeted competency based on the job application answers to supplied
questions, a curriculum vitae, reflective notes from the seminar etc. Along with this, notes for
centre exercise practice are also covered in this project.

I am Elena Munteanu and I am applying for the job of Administration Assistant in Arcadia
Merchandise Company as I have seen an advertisement regarding the vacant post. I have a great
past working experience which will be beneficial for me if I got selected within the organisation
and my strengths will guide me to fulfil all the requirements to accomplish all the tasks.
Detailed information about my experience and strengths is being mentioned by me in my
curriculum vitae. With the help of it, you can analyse that my skills could be able to meet your
requirements or not (Wehrmeyer, 2017).
According to my past working experience I am very good in managing people at workplace and
provide them motivation through proper guidance which will help to accomplish all the tasks in
a specific time limit. When I was in the college different projects were completed under my

leadership as I was good in communication and team management. I have a quality of making
plans before starting to work as it help me to make sure that the tasks which are assigned to me
will be completed in the given time limit or not. My ability of working under pressure is very
good which will be beneficial for me if I get selected by you for the purpose of Administration
Assistant as it will guide me to work effectively in all the circumstances. My past experience of
working as a Hostess in The Bank Club has helped me to make sure that I interact with all the
individuals properly as it can help to establish good relations with them. The experience of
working as a PR in Fratelli Constanta has helped me to develop my skills of communication and
importance of good relations. With the help of my past experience I can assure you that I will
try my best to attain the targets which will be provided to me by the top level executives of the
organisation (Baruch, 2014). By working in the organisation my confidence level is being
increased which is the main requirements of the job profile of Administration Assistant. As
mentioned in my CV I am having good skills such as leadership, teamwork, creativity, time
management and communication. All of them will lead me to work according to the
responsibilities assigned to me after recruitment.
All the essential elements are mentioned in my CV which are showing that I am capable of
getting selected for this job role. Based on my capabilities and skills I think that I am a suitable

I have decided for applying the vacant job in the organisation because it is one of the
largest and well known companies in the market. The image of it in the industry is very good it

technologies and tools which shows that it is a famous brand in the industry and a great career

2015). The main goal of the enterprise is to be the market leader in the retail fashion industry in
upcoming years therefore it will be a great opportunity for me to achieve growth for myself. I
have ability of thinking creatively and the organisation provide chances to the employees to
show their creativity and meet expectation of customers. So, I think that working with Arcadia
Merchandise will be a turning point for me.
Share your experience of working in teams and managing difficult situations at
workplace?
I am currently working in UK Connect Training Ltd, London as a Student Finance
Advisor/ Office Administrator and while performing this job I have also worked in teams and
sometimes I have also faced critical situations which were managed by me productively. In order
to administer the whole office I am required to make sure that all the subordinates of me are
working properly or not. For this purpose I work with them and stay with them at office if they
are having their work left for the day. At the end of year 2018 our office was shifted from one
place to another therefore it has resulted in end number of difficulties such as increased workload
for employees, decreased engagement of them to work productively etc. All these situations were
handled by me properly by working with them and making sure that one person should not have
to work alone all of them work in teams (Doherty, Horne and Wootton, 2014).
According to you which activities are performed by Administration Assistant and
do you think that you are suitable for the same or not?
According to me administration assistant is responsible to make sure that all the teams
which are working within the organisation are managed properly and all the members are having
good relations with others. Another responsibility of the job profile is to train all the staff
members so that they can help the organisation to grow and get developed (Toyoki and Brown,
2014). There are various functions of the assistant which are planning for future, organising all
the activities, directing employees to perform their jobs, controlling their activities and
maintaining workplace ethics. All these responsibilities could be taken by me and I think that I
will be able to perform all the tasks which will be assigned to me as a Administration Assistant.
How will you manage time and priorities at workplace?

As I have mentioned in my CV that I am having good time management skills so with the
help of that quality I will always try to manage the priorities according to that. When I was in
college different tasks were provided to me and other students in the class and the lecturer
always wanted that all of us complete them in the given time limit. I was the first person who
always submits the assignments in the time period and never gets late due to this I have also got
praise from the tutor and other lecturers. Even in UK Connect Training Ltd. I have worked
productively and accomplished all the tasks in the predetermined time limit so that I can monitor
and update work of all the individuals working under me.
Do you think that advance technology plays a vital role in creating value addition?
If yes then how?
Advance technology is a new or developing innovation which is related to information
technology and help organisations as well as individuals to accomplish their targeted goals in a
predetermined time limit (Steers and Nardon, 2014). For effective execution of operational
activities latest technology is required because it can guide all the staff members to take less time
to perform their jobs. I think that advance technology plays a vital role in creating value addition
into an organisation because it can help a company such as Arcadia Merchandise use latest
techniques to perform difficult tasks at workplace. As Administration Assistant I will be
responsible for making sure that the latest technologies which are used by the enterprise is
utilised properly as it is required for reaching the long term goal of increasing profits and
revenues in upcoming years.

4. Interview practice
Interview is simply the face to face interaction round within which the panel of
interviewer asks the relevant questions to the interviewee. It is related to the personal
background, past working experience and general questions which are related to the main
domain area or specialisation. This is one of the most essential evaluation round of Arcadia
Merchandise based on which decision is taken whether the applicant is selected for vacant job or
weed out from organisation (Wehrmeyer, 2017). Being the part of interview process for
assistance administrator there is a mixed positives and negative experience that are determined
below:
In the interview room there were four panel of interview that really made me nervous and
conscious in terms of paying equal attention and answering their questions.
I felt nervous and this affected my eye contact.

I clearly understand the question which was asked by interviewer and answered it without
getting deviated from the main topic. So this does promote to excess stretching of single
topic.
Once interview process takes place I gained my confidence and they were praising my
answers.
Somehow I managed to maintain the non verbal communication such as eye contact and
using of gestures to strongly define my point.
Although I forward my doubts and confusion regarding the job that showed my
enthusiasm. But still there were some essential question which slipped from my mind.
5. Assessment centre practice
I have the former job experience that helped me how work is managed within the team
meme bes. So I put forward the learning that I have gained from my job experience.
Further, some of them appreciated it and helped me to enhance my perspectives towards
different things (Yoder-Wise, 2014).
One of the most essential component of communication is to listen properly because this
actually help what needs to be answer and justify the query of other person. In the whole
evaluation round I was clear with my answers. This finally pursuit me to put forwards the
bias and generic opinion.
While making the discussion with large group I really took me time to determine people
the better perspective to think and landed up in better summarisation.
There are some members that have close mindset and encourage them to appreciate the
the new information (Meiboom and et. al., 2015). While there were certain members
who were just concern to put forwards their opinion over other. So this become
complicated for me to collective takes the though and carry out whole round.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it has been determined that the HR manager of an organisation is
responsible to manage the internal operation by hiring the potential staff and consistently
maintain the internal operation effectively. So to hire the right candidate for vacant place the
personnel needs to undergo with the diverse processes like group discussion and interview so
that only desirable candidate is left out through the whole process. So by managing the portfolio
