INTRODUCTION
Project management can be describe as the framework which the consist of different
methodologies, structures, techniques, skills along with experiences in order to successfully
accomplish desired objectives. There are different activities and task of the project that should be
managed in order to successfully and effectively carry out project. This report is based on case
research of “The Pandemic ”. This is a established in London's Dockland area and it is active in
installation, checking and commission of IT along with the communication structures. This
report includes two parts which consist of comprehensive details on the installation of the project
of IT infrastructure.
TASK 1
1. Define the key characteristics of any project.
There are the many different concepts and features involve in project, given below.
It design specifically for the customer by analysing them, so that it can be helpful to
provide quality product and services.
The managing projects are temporary in nature.
It involves the different sets of requirements which has to be done in at given time.
Its a done by formatting all the function in appropriate manner.
Every projects of organisation is made of the combination of different goals which
which has to be done by given dead line.
1b. Briefly explain the reasons why many projects fail and runs over budget.
mostly project fails and runs over the budget because of lake of knowledge related to the
cost and time management, if the project is not running in flow with time than it will not
complete with deadline of project, and in other hand improper management of money
using in project and if once cost get over budget than it will results towards the
disappointment.
2. Briefly describe each of the Five Stages in Project Management and discuss in
few words the benefits of managing projects in a well-structured manner.
The five stages of project management are, initiation, planning, execution, performance
monitoring, project closing.

Initiation is first stage where goals and objectives are set broad level. Involve research
part related to the business.
Planing this stage involve step by step planing and selection of task, techniques use for it
is S.M.A.R.T gaols.
Execution involves application of plains and starting of task in right way.
Monitoring of project to ensure the right flow of work, in time with the right budgets.
Closing of project is the final step where the achievement of goals is done.
Management of work in flow gives the appropriate result.
3. Briefly discuss the impact a good and a bad Team may have in terms of achieving and
managing project goals.
Team work with energy and interest towards the work is important and manger should
inspiring and motivating, it important to make team motivated and inventive, so that they
can work in effective manner and helps in accomplishment of goals in time. Some time
there is bad impact of workers in achievement of goals, as workers are key towards the
success, their efforts and hard work is important. But demotivation and some personal
problems of workers related to the organisation lead towards decreased energy of
workers finally effect the flow of project.
4. List the nine (9) knowledge areas in Project Management and briefly explain the importance
of any two of them
The nine knowledge areas of project management are, project integration management,
project scope management, project time management, project cost management, projects
human resource management, communication management, risk management,
procurement management. And brief example of two of them are given below.
Project time management: it is one of the most important knowledge area of project
management which has to mange in effective way. Its a challenging area for the project
manager, its a responsibility of manager to accomplished the project and task with in the
given deadline, and for completing this area manger need to focus on the other stage-
management activities related to it. And those activities are sequencing, scheduling, of
different functions, availability of resources at time etc.
