INTRODUCTION
Project management is regarded as procedure that helps in enhancement of team working
so that it can help in achievement of growth and success for a specified time period. It is a
aspect that helps in achievement of laid objectives. If the project is managed in a better manner
then it can help in achievement of goals in specified time period. Project is managed to meet and
accomplish overall objectives to ensure project planning. It will help in achievement of goals by
taking into consideration various constraints such as budgets and timelines. Planning &
controlling are two aspects that is used for demonstration of learning process. Present report is
based on case study of “The Euro Centre” that is to be built up in Docklands, London. There
Hughes Communication Ltd. (HCL) is working towards installation, testing and performing the
commission functions of IT and infrastructure for “The New Euro centre”. There are two task
that is related to installing of IT facilitates of project and conference centre.
TASK 1
Provide explanation of key characteristics of project
Project management is a very crucial aspects that is related to evaluation, initiation and
examination of project task and activities. Some of such attributes of project management are
mentioned below:
 It is a aspect that is adopted for engagement of project. It will help in controlling of
project activities & tasks for framing all activities.
 There are set of needs & demands that has to be delivered in specific time period that will
help in smooth completion of project.
 It is based on a rationale that is used for managing the whole project life cycle that can be
presented in a more structured manner.
 Project activities have to be completed in the set time frame and according to available
budget.
 The rationale of the whole project management is based on managing the purchase life
cycle that has to be presented in a better structured manner.
Stakeholder analysis:

Stakeholder are playing crucial role in management of projects. They help in
management of project so that targets can be meet according to allotted time period. Success in a
project is crucial to manage interest of all stakeholders. Stakeholder analysis in present project
report is discussed below:

Purpose of PID and provide three key items
PID consist of different components that is part of project management helping in
building up a foundation base of project. There is presence of information and data that is related
with project deadlines. Project manager has to conduct all activities and functions that are crucial
in completing whole project on specified time limit. Some of factors of PID are discussed below:

Project scope: Present project is of New Euro organization that is related to vision of project.
The scope of project of New Euro is to build a new conference room and CCTV camera so that
there can be enhancement of communication procedure among employees and management.
Quality management tool: It is having higher focus on management of standardised quality
standards for a project. This is considered in stages of project initiation stage, evaluating stage
and monitoring stage. It helps in timely management of activities and its timely completion.
Feasibility purpose & Specifying the importance of decision making
Present study is a procedure that consist of validation of project idea and understand if
project will be able to achieve higher success or not. The study is associated with management of
project on some grounds like technical, economical or justification of project. It helps in timely
completion of a project according to deadline and is associated with five aspects that include
legal, economical, operational, technical and scheduling.
knowledge areas related with project management
It consist of scope of project management, Time management, quality management,
communication management, Integration management, procurement management, cost
Management, HRM and Risk management. Project Procurement management: It is a aspect that is having relation with purchasing
products and completion of project according to specified deadlines.
 Maintaining of project quality: this aspect helps in achievement of objectives and goals
in order to manage satisfaction of customers.
Attributes of project manager and value of closing project
Project manager consist of different characteristic sand attributes that can help in
enhancing of Present communication skills so that there can be proper delivering of information
and use of leadership skills to enhance the team support.
The end stages of project are very crucial to assist in risk mitigation and dealing with
complexities so that there can be management of product dissatisfaction and confusion. It also
helps in reduction of higher complexity of project & maintaining of targets. The main five
identified attributes of project include shared vision, competence ability of delegation to all team
members.

Network diagram
There are some benefits can help in timely completion of project in provide time frame.
For this there can be adoption of a network diagram that consist of various stages such as
planning, organisation, illusionary of work flow. Identification of opportunities and checking of
project progress.
Justification of time: It deals with ways and factors that is associated with management of al
project activities that is starting with end of project.
Interdependence of activities: It is very crucial to assist how activities have to be performed in
context of predecessors & successors. There are different functions that posses a link with each
other so that effectiveness of project can be managed.

TASK 2
Overview of the project
In present case there are projects that is used for building of new infrastructure,. The
topic of project is “The Euro centre”. It is prepared for management of tasks and project
activities. For this there has to be execution of roles and responsibilities in completion of all
activities. There is a construction of a new conference room as main objective of this project.
There are different activities that will be initiated according to different project stages.
The project so assigned to Hughes Communication limited (HCL). It is based on a budget
of 20000 pounds so that all activities are timely completed. Time period is specified that is 16
months and deadline has to be met properly.
Project life cycle stages
For completion of project there is need to consider some stages so that there can be adequate use
of resources according to available time & financial resources:
Initial phase: This is the stage at which a problem is identified so that there can be proper
understand of the project feasibility. For this HCL has to make a detailed feasibility analysis so
that project scope can be determined. The project is feasible for HCL as it will lead to future

undertaking of project. Business case can lead to identification of future potential cost and
associated benefits. It will also help in determination of affected people and results
decontamination. This stage will also assist in delegation of role & responsibilities.
Planning phase: there there is need to ensure proper documentation by considering some of
below discussed components that is part of project management plan:
 Cost: It is part of total financial resources that is required for execution of all project
activities. It will help HCL in determination of total budgetary requirements to achieve
laid down objectives.
 Scope: This factor will help in determination & documentation of specific project
objectives, functions, features, deadlines, tasks that will help in completion of project
and overall goals to be achieved. At this stage all deliverable of project will help in
determination of project ability and its goals.
 Time: This aspects is related to time requirement by project team in completion of
project. The estimated time period is 16 months that will lead to installation of “The Euro
centre” in laying effective communication infrastructure for higher efficiency in
conference meetings.
 Communication: It is necessary that there has to be effective communication channels
that can help in establishes of a proper co-ordination of work among all workers so that
project can be timely completed. There will be use of communication tools like intranet,

telephones and E mails that will help in enhancement of harmony between all team
members in order to ensure completion of project.
 Risk: It is related with amount of risk and shortage of resources like time, finance, delay
in project because of internal and external factors. All such risk have to be identified in
order to take timely actions so that there can be minimization of all risks. Resources: There has to be determination of resources in advance that are very crucial
for completion of project it includes IT facilities, communication equipments that can
make effective communication such project team, telephones, TV, CCTV cameras etc. all
such resources will help project manager in achievement of results.
Implementation or execution phase: At this stage the project plan is executed by
alignments of work fowl and organisation of different task for all team members. At this stage
there has to be proper communication between all team members that has to be monitored.
Key staff: A project can be successful only if there is sufficient amount of team members
so that there can be effective execution of project. It is very important that employees are
talented and skilled so that project can be timely executed and completed. There has to be focus
on skilled employees so that goals have to be accomplished. There is hiring of new workforce
who pisses high specialisation in networking and communication.
Leadership skills: There are some skills that have to be present in a leaders so that there
can be proper monitoring and direction of all activities of project, in HCL there can be use of
democratic style of leadership that can help in enhancement of participation of all team
members. It will also help in improvement of efficiency in performance of each members so that
quick and timely decisions can be made. It will help in proper engagement of all the team
members. HCL project leaders will lead to completion of project in provided time frame so that
there can be enhancement in scope of future large projects. With use of proper leadership skills
there can be timely and proper delegation of work according to Present level of competence of
each team member. It will help in proper and timely engagement of each individual who is
associated with project and will be working towards ensuring its higher efficiency.

Execution: in this phase there is project manager who is responsible for conducting all project
related activities.
Work break down structure: It is a Framework that has to be prepared to divide the
whole task in smaller party's. This is a bifurcation that is according to activities and task that has
to be evaluated and compared. For completion of project managers have to divide all activities in
chunks according to specified functions such as finance, networking, promotion, marketing etc,
for present project work breakdown structure's is mentioned below:
Control: It is the last step of whole project n which there has to be controlling measures
that have to be laid down so that all activities can be controlled and goals can be achieved.
Project manager posses responsibility of management of all activities and further monitoring
them so that there can be elimination of errors, the project manager has to keep proper record of
activities in order to ensure accomplishment of project and achievement of activities, project
manager posses responsibility to ensure that all tasks have been completed as they were assigned
by the project leader.
Risk assessment: Risk analysis is another technique that can has to be considered in the
process of project completion. There can be two types of risk that is non financial or financing. If
there are large number of risk in a project then there is high probability of failure. So it becomes
crucial for project managers to complete the work with minimisation of risk. In new Euro
company al the project has to be managed by taking in consideration all constraints that have to
be managed in given period of time. Project manager has to manage all issues by involving all
stakeholders and managing the areas that involve higher ineffectiveness. There can be some
techniques that can help in dealing with risks.
Risk register is a technique and a effective method that can be used for dealing with all
risks. Risk register can be regarded as a database that is used for managing of risk and

establishment of control measures for all project activities. This is helpful in satisfaction of all

Closure stage: At this stage the project actually comes to a end in process of achievement of

to be measure according to its laid goals that has to be determined by the performance of
individual team members and there has to be review of project abilities that are essential for
achievement of aims. The budget of project has to be allocated according to future project
requirement so that there can be timely settlement of stakeholders.
Recommendation:
For the purpose of completion of project there is need of some tools and techniques so
that HCL can help in achievement of laid project objectives. Below discussed are some of tools
that can help in timely completion of project: Benchmarking: This aspects is related to making comparison of performance and prices
of project to set targets so that there can be laying down of project efficiency so that all
benchmarks can be met. HCL there is use of benchmarking techniques that can help in
meeting up of quality and standards of project.
 Key performance indicators: These are some of measurable values that lead to timely
determination of project effectiveness in respect of different class. There are certain

indicators that have to be focussed to improve Key performance indicators as these
actually lade to project success. Certain KPI's are IT facilities, improvement of efficiency
in conference centre, enhancing performance of all team members, achievement of
objectives in respect of given time and budget frame.
Above discussed are different stages that have to be followed in HCL so that there can be
timely installation, testing & commissioning of IT infrastructure in Euro centre that can lead to
achievement of project objectives, HCL will also help in completion of large projects to enhance
its markets cope and overall effectiveness.

CONCLUSION
It can be said that for completion of project there are certain activities that have to be
considered to ensure that time frame is being considered. There is estimation of cost and
deadlines that are set for completion of project . The main role is played by project managers and
project leaders to ensure that all activities are taking place according to set criteria. There are
different attributes that are part of a project and have to be managed to ensure its timely
completion, project management consist of activities that are are not in control of project
managers such as limited availability of time period. Project life cycle has to be considered to
ensure that that all activities are taking place the way it was planned according to different stages
that are part of project life cycle.
