INTRODUCTION
Managing self and others comprises certain information, intuitions as well as
understanding that will undergo whole business career. There are different factors through which
a person can manage them and also others like in the form of speaking truth, working hard and
many more. In relation with career development it is defined as the procedure of selecting a
career, enhancing abilities and talents and following a proper career path (Hallett and et.al,
2021). It is a lifelong process of both decisions making and learning through which an individual
comes closer to effective job and lifestyle. To assure effective career development it is important
for an individual to do personal development also. The below report includes plans for goal
setting, personal skills audit, SWOT analysis, concepts associated with career development
strategies, how high performance people get enhanced by performance management and how
strategies enable a person to meet all the needs.

Personal development plan is very much important in career aspects. There are various
steps involved in making a plan like determination of all the goals, identifying long term goals,
strengths and weakness, development of different opportunities, identification of threats and
many more. My past 12 months PDP and future PDP is further being explained as below: -

From the above skills audit required for my business I have evaluated different types of skills
which are needed for my future aspects. There are 7 skills which are the most important ones and

these are emotional intelligence, time management, presentation skills, communication abilities,
team work, determination and confidence and proper organization skills. I have rated all the
talents on the basis of excellent, very good, good, average and no skills. It is further been
determined below: -
Strong communication skills: - On the basis of this skill, it is considered as the most
significant one for a business foundation. I have rated it as good and the reason behind
this is that while learning about business I use to interact with other people which
developed my communication abilities.
Emotional intelligence: - It mainly means to manage emotions. I have rated it on average
basis because in context with business i was able to recognize and control my emotions
but not able to access other people emotions. So, on the basis of this I was at average
stage.
Working in a team: - I was very good while working in a team which helped me a lot
during career development. As team work is the most efficient element in a business so
through this I was being very good in interacting with people and doing work along with
whole team.
Presentation skills: - I rated my presentation skills as good because during my career
development I was presenting everything in an effective way which is significant for me
also as through this I am developing my other talents and abilities.
Organization skills: - My organization skills are at average stage as I am not able to
properly organize everything. I am presenting everything very good and I am not being
able to organize and manage my career.
Time management: - It is the best skill of mine and I have rated it on excellent basis. As
per my career aspect I am very punctual and everything is being done within the set
deadline.
Determination and confidence: - To develop my career every person needs confidence
so that all goals and objectives are achieved. On the basis of this I have rated myself on
average as I was not having much level of confidence.
SWOT analysis: -
Under the SWOT analysis I have determined my own strengths, weakness, opportunities
and threats in an efficient way. This makes an individual to develop them in a better way. It is
being defined below: -
Strengths: - My strength is that I have good communication skills which help me in
enhancing and developing my career. While doing interaction with other people it helps
me a lot in properly understanding about other individual’s point of view. I have also
strength of working in a team which also helps me in properly organizing everything.
Weakness: - I have lack of emotional intelligence skills within me which was a weakness
as per my career in business because I am not able to understand other people emotions

and perspectives which is becoming a difficult situation for me. Besides this my
organization skills are also not much good due to which my profession of business is
getting affected.
Opportunities: - The opportunity which is being developed by me is due to my time
management and presentation development abilities. Through this I am able to complete
and develop all my projects within the set deadline. At the same point of time my
confidence skills was getting developed which was an opportunity for me to increase my
career efficiency skills.
Threats: - The biggest threat is my weakness which makes me less effective for my
career development of business. Due to this it affects my personality also. Another threat
which is influenced by me is my communication skills which have made numerous
important data not to be distributed in an efficient way that lead to delay in all my tasks.

There are various concepts associated with career development ways like in the form of
formal and informal leaning strategies and many more. On the basis of career development it is
being explained below: -
Knowledge management strategies: -
It refers to a plan of action which determines how an organization will manage company
information, knowledge in order to enhance the level of productivity. There are various kinds of
tactics like understanding of knowledge management, communicating best practices,
implementing certain changes and many more. As per the above discussion it is being explained
below: -
Communicating best practices: - It is one of the most significant strategies which are
associated with the aspect of career development. While enhancing my career I am
developing my knowledge for personal development and building up the level of
motivation. It is very much essential in the business that proper communication is being
done and my career is being enriching.
Production of communicable plan: - In my career of doing business I developed my
knowledge regarding the current condition and future aspects. As per my personal
development plan I have made lot of strategies in order to improve my skills. It would
support both the aspect of employee retention and motivation. So, through this my career
development was being done.
On the basis of knowledge management strategies I learned about lot of things and developed my
career. There are many skills associated like presentation, organizing and many more. Through
this my knowledge helped me in doing certain improvements for future.

help an individual in developing motivation and personal development too. There are different
ways through which integration of both organizational and employee performance is done and it
is further being explained below: -
Formal method: -
Online training: - It is an efficient formal way to develop a career. I also received
training on the basis of my business aspect. I have lot of skills like determination,
interaction, and team work and so on. So, on the basis of my personal development there
were certain other skills also in which I was lacking like confidence, organizing and so
on. To develop my career and get encouraged to achieve success I am getting online
training which is very much beneficial for me.
Getting feedback: - By learning new things it is important to get feedback so that
improvements can be done. As I was lacking in certain skills in the past period so it was
crucial for me to get feedback and on the basis of other people’s opinion make certain
progresses.
Informal strategy: -
Pairing of new employee with a mentor: - For both personal as well as career
development efficient level of guidance is necessary because on the basis of this only I
was developing my skills. In order to improve my performance I decided to pair with a
mentor so that if any problems are getting arisen I can get effective guidance in order to
solve those problems. In terms of my personal development plan there are many skills in
which I was lacking so it became essential for me to tackle all the problems and get
proper guidance.
Social learning: - By observing the talents and behavior of other persons it helped me in
developing my career. For me focusing on my area of business is the most necessary
thing and it required different types of strategies so the informal approach of social
learning is considered a good way to develop career goals.
Vroom’s expectancy theory: -
There are three elements involved in this theory and these are valence, expectancy and
instrumentality. An individual gets motivated when they value the prize which is in association
with the action, trust that they will receive reward and always believe that they have the talent of
achieving all goals and objectives. In relation with expectancy it means what employees actually
expect from their efforts in terms of what they can do. On the basis of instrumentality it means
the prediction of employees that whether they will get what they have desired. In accordance
with the element of valence it means that the outcome which is achieved by employees is valued
differently by each individual. In terms of my career and personal development plan it is being
determined below: -

Valence: - As per my career I always value to develop my business. For me developing
my skills is the most valuable aspect because I can achieve all goals and objectives only
if effective level of motivation is being there. Besides all other things I always value that
my skills get enhanced so that my career get developed.
Expectancy: - I always have an expectation that I would progress in my presentation and
organizing skills. I build up my confidence level more after gaining online training. From
the initial stage only I have self-confidence that I have strong communication skills and
can interact with each individual in a very efficient way.
Instrumentality: - To study in the area of business I made certain predictions that I will
develop my career and would achieve my business perspectives. Before focusing on any
other aspect I perceived that whether I would be achieving my goals or not. On the basis
of this I used to get motivated from my mentor that I should desire for something and

and progress. The most essential one which is considered is continuous feedback. While
developing my skills it was necessary that I get feedback from other people so that if any
improvement needs to be done then I can do it in an efficient way. I can also develop through the
usage of learning management system. It helped me in assessing my skills also and learning new
concepts.
How may high performance people be developed by efficient performance management
Performance management means that an organization is constantly working to develop
employees, enable clear goals and objectives and providing continuous feedback. The people
perform really well when there is good level of performance management. For each individual
proper supervision of performance is needed. Being a good and efficient performer it is being
defined that they are always ready to take certain risks and solve all kind of issues. In the phase
of my career development I was being performing good and it all happened because of effective
employee engagement being done and the enhanced level of productivity. I was having various
skills through which I was performing well and it was helpful for me in the future also. There
are certain benefits associated with performance management through which I was getting
developed like my mentor used to know about all my strengths and weakness through which
proper guidance was being given to me. I have certain abilities like communication, presentation
and so on but at the same point of time I also need guidance so that I can make certain
improvements and become a high performer. Due to the effective performance management I
can develop both my career as well as my personality also. My presentation can be developed if
the management team can focus on certain goals and objectives. There are different strategies
associated through which development is done and on the basis of my career it is being explained
as below: -
Frequent performance feedback: - I can perform well if I get continuous feedback from
the management team. Due to this my skills get developed and also positive behavior

Utilize performance management software: - Performance management system can also
develop my performance through implementing software that gives all true reviews. It
helped me in upgrading certain skills which is the most beneficial thing for me.

engaged and retaining talent. On the basis of my aptitudes and abilities I am being indulged into
my career development. Through this I am getting more developed and enhanced. Performance
management is mainly the six components of high performance. It is further being explained
below: -
Purpose: - The main purpose of my career is to indulge into the area of business and
there were many reasons associated with it. As I was studying in the same field and on
the other hand I am having strong communication skills and being determined towards
my career. Due to the motivation from the management team I am becoming a good
performer in comparison with other people.
Challenge: - In current situation there are many challenges and we can perform best only
if we accept those challenges. So, with the help of performance management team I was
getting developed because proper alignment was being done as per the aspect of all goals
and objectives. During my career also I desired for lot of things which was a big
challenge for me right from developing my skills and make the career in the field of
business.
Attention: - With the help of performance management team constant feedback was
being given to me through which I was able to make certain improvements. There are
many skills which are necessary for me in future period of time so on the basis of them
the team gives full attention to all the skills.
Growth: - The team can also develop performers through changing the mind-set of
people. Due to positive thoughts and opinions an individual can perform well and lead to
growth. For my career also it was essential that I play with my strengths and in
accordance with that achieves growth at high level.
Choice: - By building up a strong network of people efficient support is received. The
management team can help in maintaining the efforts and enabling new networks.
There are many ways through which a team can develop performance of an individual like
setting up criteria on the basis of which each individual would be motivated to perform their best
and achieve all goals and objectives.

certain criteria by which teams dynamic could be able to perform with their level of working for
providing effective performance in order to achieve their desired goals. As a team with a good
and effective group could be e considered as constructive as well as productive team which could
demonstrate a mutual understanding as well as knowledge of correct self-behavior of other
individuals. In relation to area of business there are certain strategies which could be used by an
individual for meeting up their goals as well as personal development needs are explained as
follows:
Addressing problems fast: As in order to carry and meet up goals effectively it is
necessary to work in a team as if an individual seize their team member engaging with in
unhelpful behavior, working to resolve that fastly so it becomes responsibility for an
individual that are carrying on area of business to speak up with their team member
directly and invite them to reflect their behavior for changing out their support towards

Building communication: As for having effectiveness and meeting up individual goals
for having person development it is necessary for individual to build and improve
communication level among their team by providing their team to use for driving a
communication as well as encouraging their team members to communicate clearly
without having any confusion to each other so that their idea of team and discussion
could be conveyed properly. In order to carry our area of business it is necessary for
individual to keep their team members updated about their project changes along with
any news that are regarding to their discussion which could be feel included as well as
