Title

Overview
Digital technology has brought various advancements in every field. There are various
different aspects of digital technology that can be involved in Black penny in order to make the
processing better and efficient enough. So, the Black Penny can ensure the fact that use of digital
technology can actually help in increasing the overall rate of the processing of the operations.
This will further prove beneficial enough in bringing a higher rate of popularity as well as
productivity (Eckerson, 2010). There are various different factors that acts as a barrier and
challenge in the operations, so the Black Penny can also consider all these and with the help of
involvement of digital technology, can focus on making proper modifications and improvements
in order to have a better processing of the operations and services.
Aim
To analyse the impact of digital technology in achieving various business objectives in Black
Penny.
Objectives
 To determine the influence and importance of digital technology.

 Cost: In order to conduct present research, total £580 required. With the help of this,
different activities consider on the basis of proper amount so that aim and objectives will
be accomplish.
 Scope: Present research helps to several other aspects to implement digital technology at
workplace. It will develop more significant advantages to make advance work and
ascertained more effectiveness.
 Time: Total 2 months undertaken by researcher to complete the research.
 Quality: All resources that are used in the present research must be qualitative so that
aim and objectives will be accomplish in appropriate manner.
 Communication: Researcher need to make their effective communication with several
numbers of respondents and other people so that appropriate work will be develop.
 Risk: Time and money are major risk elements that need to be assessed in appropriate
manner to attain more desired results.

Research is considered as a way of collecting the data and information in a way that it can
seem beneficial enough for the whole research. There are different factors that are considered
with the research methodology and these are discussed as under:
Research approach

Research approach is considered as a way in which the information is being collected in a
way that it can seem beneficial enough for the research. There are different factors in which
research approach can be classified and these involve inductive and deductive. Inductive
approach focuses on the fact of generating new theories but the deductive approach focuses on
the objectives and their implementation (Eckerson, 2010). In this research, the researcher makes
use of the deductive approach because it can help them in analysing efficiently the influence of
digital technology in different operations of the Black Penny.
Research philosophy
Research philosophy is considered as a way which helps in providing an analysis to the
researcher that how the data should be taken and analysed and then on that basis, it should be
gathered and used in the research (Peppard and Ward, 2016). There are various aspects in which
the research philosophy can be classified into and some very well-known and common examples
include positivism, realism, interpretivism etc. in this research, the researcher has made use the
positivism approach because it helps in providing a better analysis of the impact of digital
technology in the operations of the Black Penny. Researcher made use of positivism philosophy
of research because helps in drawing observation on the basis of actual knowledge over research
topic.
Research method
Research method is considered as a way which is used in the research to make it more
efficient and appropriate. There are various types of research project and some well-known
examples are classified as the qualitative and the quantitative. The qualitative methods are
considered as the methods in which the information has been taken from the theoretical
frameworks whereas in case of the quantitative method, it is being taken from the statistical
frameworks. In this research, the researcher has made use of the qualitative one because this will
help them to evaluate the importance and influence of digital technology in the Black Penny. Use
of quantitative method has been avoided because in case of the data from statistical and tabular
forms, there is a possibility that the data might not act accurate and new as per the research. So,
the researcher has avoided the use of quantitative method.
Data Collection
Data collection is considered as a way in which the information is being gathered by
different means. The collection of data can be done by either the primary method or by the

secondary method. Primary collection of data is considered as a way in which the researcher
collects the information for the first time and the secondary collection of data is termed as a way
when the information is already gathered by some other person but the same can be used by the
researcher in order to use in the research (Hatch and Cunliffe, 2013). Various sources of primary
data include focused groups, interviews, surveys etc. and different sources of secondary data
involves information from online, books and journals. In this research, the researcher has made
use of the primary data
Because it will help them to analysing the influence of digital technology in achieving different
business objectives in Black Penny.
Research limitations
Research limitations are considered as the factors that acts as a sort of challenge or
barrier in some part of the research. A very basic example of this can be considered as the fact
that if in case, the researcher wants to extent the time of the research so that they can be able to
make the research better, at that time, it is very important to ensure that along with time, there
must be other factors as well that might be required as well for continuing the same such as cost
etc. therefore, if in case there is unavailability of the same, it might act as a barrier (Westerman,
Bonnet and McAfee, 2014). It is because if the time for the research will be extended, then it is
obvious that an efficient cost will be required to cope with the same. Therefore, it is very
important if the researcher completes the research within the given period only so that no
possibility of any factor behaving as a barrier can take place.

with the digitalised one. So, this can surely help the functioning of the black penny. Four other
employees of the restaurant also agree to the fact that this can help the restaurant and its
functions. One employee is neutral as they are confused of the fact that whether the
implementation of digital technology can actually help in functioning of the restaurant or not.
Two employees of the black penny do not agree to the fact as they think that digital technology
may not bring any changes in the restaurant. Two other employees of the restaurant also think
that the implementation of digital technology cannot help any process or operation of the black
penny. It is because they are unaware of the fact that its implementation can actually help in
speeding up the rate of the operations.

implementation of the digital technology. It is because this can actually help the restaurant in
getting an increased rate of speed of the operations and processes so that it can further prove
beneficial enough in achieving all the objectives and targets and at a faster rate. This can also
help in maximizing the rate of productivity of the company. Two employees think that there is
no requirement of digital technology in Black penny because they think that they can continue
with their basic processing but they are not aware of the fact that this can actually help Black

technology in the Black Penny can actually help the restaurant in achieving all the targets. 18
employees strongly agree to the fact because it is obvious that when the speed of the operations
will increase, the overall number of processes will increase, thus promoting a sort of increase in
the productivity. Two other employees also agree to the fact. One employee is confused as they
are unsure whether it will be able to increase the rate of objectives or not. Three employees of
the restaurant does not agree to the fact as they think that the implementation of digital

Interpretation : After the analysis has been made, 19 employees of the black penny restaurant
strongly agrees to the fact that digital technology will help and they think that the most benefited
factor by the involvement of digital technology will be manual processing. It is because after the
involvement of digital technology, the manual processing of the operations in the Black penny
can be replaced by the digitalised one. Then, it is obvious that this will increase the overall rate

and speed of the operations. Four employees think that for the purpose of attendance, the digital
technology can seem suitable because there will be no attendance taking. The employees can be
able to make their present by using the biometric simply. Two employees of the restaurant think
that for achieving an effectiveness and appropriateness in the security concerns, the digital
technology will help the most. But in case of the manual processing, the implementation of
digital technology can act the most beneficial because it will make replacements of all the
manual processing with the digitalised one, thus making an increase in the overall rating of the
operation's and services of the Black penny.
P6 Appropriate Recommendations and conclusion
There are various factors that can be added in order to make improvements and modifications in
the processing of the operations of Black Penny and these are discussed as under :
 The black penny can ensure the fact that as the involvement of technology is new, so
there might be the possibility that the employees can take time for understanding how to
use it, so the restaurant should consider this fact and also, they should give some time to
the employees so that they can get used to it (Eckerso, 2010).
 Also, the black penny should provide the employees proper training and development
regarding the use of digital technology. It will help the employees to get aware of the use
of digital technology. So, the employees can focus on performing the operations better.
 Black penny should ensure in the initial phase only that what are the operations they want
to keep digitalised. It is because on the basis of that only, they will be able to plan
properly that what gadgets will be required by the restaurant. Therefore, this will help in
making a pre analysis of factors, thus a pre planned structure will help them in achieving
their objectives at a much faster rate.
 Providing and organising proper training sessions for the employees about the
implementation of the digital technology is very important because this is obvious that
the implementation of the digital technology will be new for the employees as well. So,
they must not be aware of ways of using it. Therefore, along with the involvement of
digital technology, Black penny should also ensure to organise proper efficient and
appropriate training sessions for the employees so that they can get aware of using it.

P7 Reflection
In the present research, I had taken participation in several aspects and areas. With this
regard, aims and objectives can be accomplish to develop more significant advantages. On the
basis of appropriate research methodology I can take analysis of data in proper manner. In this
way, qualitative strategy has been undertaken which would be beneficial to focus on personal
opinion and views. From the research, i have realised that the digital technology has actually
proven beneficial enough for the Black Penny as it can make replacements with the manual
processing. Replacement of the manual processes with the digitalised one can actually help in
increasing the speed and overall rate of the processing of the operations. From the research, I got
to understand various tools and methods which helped me in analysing the topic better and in a
more appropriate way. So, I got to understand the importance of these tools and techniques. I
went through the study of various books etc. to make expansions in my knowledge about the
digital technology and its different aspects and this helped me in actually expanding my whole
understanding of the digital technology and its influence on different factors of the Black Penny.
Also, i understood that there are various different aspects of the research methodology and some
well known examples includes research philosophy, research methods, research approaches etc.
Every single aspect has some influence on the processing of the operations of the research. Also,
I realised that there are two ways in which the researcher can collect the information and data to
be used in the research. Primary way of gathering data means the information is being gathered
for the first time but the secondary way of gathering the information is when the data has already
been gathered by some external body but it can be taken in use by the researcher for their own
use. But after analysing both these methods, i noticed that the researcher has used primary data
because that can act suitable and relevant enough for analysing the influence of digital
technology.
Also, in case of secondary data, there is a possibility that the online data may be old and
does not act suitable and relevant enough for the present research. So, the researcher has used
primary data in this research. Then, I realised that there can be some factors that the Black Penny
can involve in order to make the improvements and modifications so that they can be able to
achieve a better rate of processing of the operations. Also, I collected the whole data from the
employees of the Black Penny and performed an appropriate data analysis so that the outputs can
stay clear enough. IN the data analysis, I collected the information and data of the required

factors from 25 employees of the Black penny and took their ideas. Also, this can term very
beneficial for the Black penny to achieve all their targets and goals and that too at a much faster
rate.
