The policyof CSR operates as self-regulatory mechanism under which businesses supervises and assurestheir active abidance with the law, ethical standards and national or international norms. Alongwith certain frameworks, an organisations execution of CSR activities goes above justcompliance and involves in those actions which give some further social good, which is beyondfirm's interests and needed by law (Saul, 2012). In some areas like environmental issues orlabour regulations, organisations can select to oblige with law, to go above law, but they can alsoopt for not complying with law, like when they intentionally avoid gender equality or mandatoryneeds to recruit employees with disabilities. There should be a recognition given that severalhard laws are weak laws also. They are weak in the sense that they are enforced in a very poormanner having little or no control and little or very few sanctions when there is a case of non-compliance.
