INTRODUCTION
Globalisation is referred to a process by which national economies of different countries
integrates at global context. It is defined as the flow of services or goods so that people from one
place have access to the service or products produced at other place. It is a procedure in which
people, organisations, government from different cultures, belief, climates interact and integrates
with each other (Bertels, Koen and Elsum, 2015. This assignment is written in context with
Jaguar which is a which is a Britain based luxurious brand in auto-mobile sector, headquartered
in Coventry, UK. This report will cover aims and objectives of project along with factors related
with project management plan like cost, communication etc. Beside this, WBS and Gantt chart is
mentioned. Various data collection method and research techniques will be used to gather data in
a desired manner. Beside this, recommendations and conclusion is given so that research can
take place in desired manner. At last, reflection is mentioned to acknowledge own learning and
performance.

P1 Prepare aims and objectives of project for chosen scenario
Jaguar is a luxurious multinational brand of Jaguar Land Rover which is headquartered in
Coventry, England. Company manufactures luxurious cars and XUV and at present successfully
operating at more than 20 nations worldwide. Main objective of Jaguar is to offer comfort and
safety to their customers while maintaining standard and lavishness. To make their vehicles more
attractive, company modifies them at regular time interval. This is the reason company is a
market leader in auto-mobile sector. Company operates at international level and earns high
revenues and profitability due to it. This research will benefits in acknowledging the positive
cultural, economic and ethical influences of globalisation on Jaguar and their business functions
in a proper manner (Boyle, 2017).
Impact of globalisation on functions of an organisation are mentioned below:
Marketing: Role of marketing department is to identify preferences and needs of
customers and acknowledge the manufacturing department to modify their services or products
accordingly. Due to globalisation, marketing department is promote products of Jaguar in a
global manner and company have excess to more customer base and sales. This benefits the
company in earning high revenues and profits.

Operations: Role of this department in Jaguar is to convert raw material into finalised
product so that consumer can purchase them and company will acquire high profits. Due to
globalisation, Jaguar has updated its operational processes into modern technology like six
sigma, lean management, Agile approach etc. This benefits Jaguar to improvise their quality
along with quantity due to which sales and brand image of company will improve drastically.
Human resource: HR department manages the workforce of company and recruit skilled
and capable workforce. With the help of globalisation, company can hire people from different
background, culture, ethnicity, grounds so that domestic workforce can learn new capability and
skills to perform work. Due to employees from different background, company uses innovative
ideas and concepts to serve customers in a proper manner.

will be executed, monitored and controlled. It is summary prepared for future planning and
making decisions. Jaguar is planning to expand in Russia and uses this plan to assure the

Cost: It is the amount that is required to perform any activity and project cost is the total
fund which is required for the project. Cost is categorised into two types that are Direct cost and
indirect cost. Direct cost refers to the cost which is incurred in manufacturing process whereas
indirect cost refers to the cost which is incurred in administration work. Jaguar new expansion
require high amount of cost to be incurred and of both nature Direct and Indirect. Direct
expenses include machinery required in manufacturing, rent and lights whereas indirect expenses
include expenses of marketing, sales, Human resource department and administration. The total
cost which is estimated to 45 lac pounds. On the other hand, researcher estimated the cost of
research is equal to 1 lac pound which includes the expense of collection of data through primary
source which is expensive.
Scope: Scope define the goals and objective which company want to achieve. A scope
statement is formed where all the opportunities present in the environment where company want
to expand. Jaguar have specified their goal which they want from this expansion which is
acquiring market share globally. Jaguar is already an established brand, therefore it won't be
difficult to achieve it. On the other hand, researcher has scope of finding opportunities which can
be beneficial for company in achieving the goals of Jaguar. The areas where researcher can
conduct the research such as competitor of company in that particular country (Hillson, 2017).
Time: It is an important factor in project management as the success of the company is
depend upon the efficiency of company. A project is required to be completed within specified
time. Jaguar is required to achieve their goal in limited time otherwise the company will not be
able to achieve it as there is high competition in the country. On the other hand, researcher is
required to conduct research in specific time to provide support to Jaguar and to reduce the cost
incurred in conducting research and the credibility of research need to be higher.
Quality: If company improves the quality of products will result in higher satisfaction of
customers. Jaguar Land Rover is required to innovate something in technology to improve or
provide best to their customers to fulfil the needs of customers and mostly desires of customers is
required to be provided and the increase in quantity provided. For researcher, the quality of its
research need to be free from favouritism and biases and the methods to collect the data need to
be choose properly.
Communication: Communication is an important factor in forming any project. Jaguar is
required to communicate about the expansion to the country where they are expanding through

various channel that is they have to focus more on marketing activities and marketing department
need to work more on promotional activities such as advertising through various media channels
like newspaper, television and by many ways. For researcher, the research conducted by research
should be properly communicated to company without any baseless information and also at the
time of conduction of research it is also important to communicate properly with the sources who
are providing research (Jeston, 2014).
Risk: Risk is a factor which require more focus at the time of project management. As
when jaguar is expanding into a country which contain huge risk as it involves huge capital with
the aim of getting return of investment but it also involves return of risk. Assessment of risk is
highly needed to assure the amount of loss a company can incur. Jaguar is required to focus on
all area where risk is high and according to that decisions to be formed. For researcher, the
problem occurring at the time of research need to be properly analysed and solutions to be
searched through proper analysis of problem because single error will affect the quality of
research.
Resources: Resources are the basic requirement to perform the project. Jaguar require
many resources at the time of expansion which can be human resource, finance or anything else
to perform the task essential for project completion. A system is to be formed to capture all the
resources and for the management of resource so that they can be utilised efficiently. For
researcher, the resources are categorised into two parts that is primary and secondary. Primary
sources are observation, personal interview, questionnaires etc. and secondary source are books,
magazines, newspapers, online channels, public department etc. Researcher utilise these
resources according to the need and conducts the research in effective way.

Work break-down structure: It is a hierarchical structure that divides large projects into

Research: It is referred to the systematic and careful study of a particular topic or subject
with the help of scientific methods so that feasible solutions can be found for them. In general,
there are two kinds of research methods which are primary and secondary research. These
methods are mentioned below:
Primary research method: In this kind of research, data and information is collected for
the first time with the help of techniques like face to face interviews, questionnaire,
observation, panel interview, surveys etc. This research takes a long time and requires
more money. It will help the researcher in gaining both exploratory and specific
information (Lundin and et. al., 2015).

Secondary research method: In these research, data is collected with the help of
internet, books, magazines, journals and other online sources. It’s the quickest and
cheapest way to gather data and information. This method is beneficial but information
collected by this way can be altered as per the need of information provider due to which
validity of data is less.
Beside this research is of two type i.e. qualitative and quantitative which are discussed
below:
Qualitative research: It is exploratory in nature as it is based on belief, opinions and
actions of an individual. To identify the reason for every human action, a sample size
can be taken and with the help of interviews, observation required answers can be
found (Martinsuo, Korhonen and Laine, 2014). This research is not based on numeric
data and facts due to which chances of error are high.
Quantitative research: This kind of research is specific in nature due to which it
involves the gathering of numeric data and statistics. Different methods that are used
to gather data is interviews, questionnaire and surveys. This method is expensive and
time taking but information gathered is accurate.
For this particular project carried out by Jaguar, questionnaire method is used to collect
data and sample size for this questionnaire is 50. People to fill questionnaire will be chosen
randomly and their responses will be treated as the opinion of entire information (Nicholas and
Steyn, 2017).
