Topic
“The strategies and initiatives which are taken by companies so as to build an inclusive
and diverse workforce” Case study on Bentley Motors Ltd.
Introduction
Equality among workers plays an important role in the success of an organisation as by
building an inclusive working environment the performance of workers can be increased which
help in enhancing the competitiveness of business in market. It is also important that people
belonging to different caste, religion, sex, age etc. are given an inclusive workplace as it help in
bringing varied ideas in company along with different experiences, skills etc. Creating an
inclusive and diverse working environment help in increasing innovation in company along with
enhancing its brand image through improved quality of products and services offered so that high
customer satisfaction can be achieved (Bonilla-Rodriguez, 2016). In this report the ways through
which Bandon Tiles Ltd which a small manufacturing company that is planning on expanding
and planning its workforce can create equality and diversity among workers will be discussed. In
order to determine these strategies, Bentley Motors Ltd which is a British car manufacturing
company headquartered in England, UK and manufactures luxury cars and SUVs is taken. A
small scale research will be conducted in this report by forming a project management plan,
research methodology; application of research tools etc. so that objectives of research can be
achieved.
P1) Aims and objectives
For an organisation to successfully survive in market it is important that they treat their
employees equally irrespective of differences like caste, sex, age, religion etc. so that an effective
and healthy working environment can be created. This can help the workers in using their skill
and abilities in achieving organisational goals. Equal and fair treatment and opportunities can
enhance the motivation of employees so that they can work together and coordinate their work
efficiently (Clarke and Higgs, 2016).
Research aim: To investigate the strategies and initiatives that can be taken by a company so as
to create a diverse and equal workforce.
Research objectives:
To understand about the concept of equality and diversity in workplace.

To evaluate the advantages of creating an inclusive and diverse working environment.
To determine the ways through which such workplace can be created.
To identify the ways of dealing with issues of diverse people working together.
Research questions:
What is the meaning of having equal and diverse workplace?
How can creating such environment benefit the organisation?
What are the ways of creating such workplace?
How can challenges related with diversity in workplace be dealt with?
P2) Project management plan
Before initiating a project it is important that a well structured and approved document
containing details about the resources, cost, time, scope etc. is created so that the objectives of
project can be efficiently achieved. It also helps the researcher in completing the project utilising
the resources and budget determined in PMP so that it can be finished within stipulated time.
Following are the components which are included in this plan regarding the project:
Cost: It is the most important element of initiating a project as all the resources and time
required to complete the project depends on its budget which make it easier to complete
the project effectively and efficiently (Dickens, Womack and Dimes, 2019). Estimation
of the project cost must be done accurately as the quality of the project depends on the
budget which is allocated to it. In order to complete this project the cost estimated by
researcher is £100 so that all the research related activities can be completed efficiently
so that high quality results can be achieved.
Particulars Amount
Collecting data from sources £30
Resources required £30
Use of research tools £20
Miscellaneous £10
Total £100
Time: This component helps in determining the total time which will be taken in
completion of project which is an important factor as this help in monitoring the
utilisation of time so that the project does not get delayed. The estimated time related
with completion of project should be determined efficiently so that the team members can

be motivated to achieve the project objectives on time and in an efficient manner. The
time estimated by researcher is 7 weeks so that all the project activities can be completed
in a desired manner.
Scope: It is related with determining and documenting the project goals, deliverables,
features, cost, deadlines etc. related with the project so that the worth and importance of
project can be determined. It also helps in determining the feasibility of the project and its
ability in achieving desired goals in an efficient manner (Federman and Rishel Elias,
2017).
Resources: In order to complete the project efficiently it is important that the resources
that will be required during the project are determined so that they can be used in
carrying out the activities of project which can help in completion of project on time. The
resources that are determined by researcher are research tools, team members, office,
printer etc. so that they can help in achieving desired results.
Risk: These are the factors which can affect the quality and completion of project in
desired manner as their occurrence is unplanned which can affect the complete project
plan. It is important that the risks associated with the project are pre-determined which
can help in taking corrective actions on time so that the negative impacts of risks can be
minimised (Gabaldon and Giménez, 2017).
Quality: For enhancing the use of project results it is important that high quality data is
used by the researcher so that desired results can be achieved. Selecting authentic and
reliable sources of information is important in order to enhance result quality and
improving the efficiency of project.
Communication: Effective communication plays an important role in completing the
project in a desired manner as this help in the smooth and uninterrupted flow of
information among team members so that work gets completed efficiently. Researcher
can use tools like mobile phones, internet, e-mails etc. so that effective communication
can be established throughout the project which can help in efficient completion of the
project (Gomez, Langdon and Clarkson, 2016).
P3) Gantt chart and WBS
Gantt chart: This is a horizontal bar chart which can be used by researcher so as to plan
the research activities with respect to time by aligning all the activities as per time required to

complete each activity. Henry L. Gantt in the year 1917 developed this tool which is helpful in
management of a project and also in determining the relation of project activities with time. The
researcher can thus distribute time among all the activities effectively so that the project gets
completed within estimated tome and budget (Gordon, 2018).
Work breakdown structure (WBS): This is tool which help in dividing a large and
complex project into small and manageable components so that the large project can be
efficiently managed and completed on time. This tool also help in motivating the team member
as they have to manage small components of a project and after achieving each milestone they
become more confident on completion of complete project (Gotsis and Grimani, 2016).
