INRODUCTION
TASK 1
1) Explanation of the proposed topic and the reason behind choosing it
Globalisation refers to the process which enables the organisation to sell their products
and services across national boundaries. In other words, it is a process of interacting with people,
government and companies which have different culture, beliefs attitudes and values (Ahmed
Dine Rabeh, Jimenez-Jimene and Martínez-Costa, 2013). In this report, chosen organisation is
Aldo Groups. It is one of the leading shoe seller and manufacturer in the world. Basically it is a
Canadian chain of retailing of shoes which was founded in 1972. This report will be going to
focus on aims and objectives for the case scenario of Aldo Groups. It analyses the cost, resources
as well as the scope of the respective company in identifying the risk and benefits of Joint
ventures while expanding its operations in Nepal and doing joint venture with Envy Shoes and
accessories which is a luxury shoe retailer in nepal and has large number of sales outlet in Nepal.
Aldo Group has been decided to go for joint venture with Envy Shoes and accessories in Nepal.
(Aldo Group Expands in Asia. 2016). Determining the risks and benefits will help respective
organisation to take certain actions and decisions which allow them to perform functionally at
global level.
2) Aims and objectives of the proposed research
Aim of the project
To evaluate the risk and benefits of international joint venture for Aldo Groups with Envy
Shoes and accessories. A study on Aldo Groups.
Objectives
 To determine the challenges faced by an organisation while opting Joint venture as a
market entry tool.
 To analyse the benefits of joint venture for Aldo Group while expansion of business in
Nepal with Envy Shoes and accessories.
 To evaluate the risks related with joint business venture for Aldo Groups at the time of
expansion in Asia with Envy Shoes and accessories.

3) Scope and limitation of the project
Project management plan is a formal document which defines how the project will be
executed, monitored and controlled. It is a summarised plan which includes cost, scope, time,
quality, communication and resources which are described below- Scope : Scope are the opportunities for a research, which they can get in future, so that
they can gain some profits and revenue. This research will help researcher in improving
their skills and knowledge related to this topic, so that in future they can perform research
on same topic with less problems. Limitations of the project : Limitations are the barriers which a researcher use to face
while completing research on some specific topic. In this research, the limitation which
researcher has faced are, shortage of secondary research resources, which has become
barrier while collecting authenticated data on topic. Along with this, another challenge
faced by researcher in this research was, while collecting data from primary sources,
respondents were not taking them serious and also not providing appropriate information
of about topic.
 Risk : These are the threats which a person has, while completing or conducting any task
or activity. Here researcher have risk that the information collected by them may not get
wrong, and if so happen then it report will get completely wrong.
4) Resources and cost considerations Resources : These are medium which are required by researcher for completing and
conduct the research, so that they can collect authenticated and appropriate information
on some specific topic. For conducting this research, researcher required proper books,
articles, online websites, new papers so that they can collect information on topic which
is required by them. Also another resources needed by researcher are some respondents
which can give answers to the questions asked by researcher. This will help them in
gaining information which is not earlier collected by any person.
 Cost : For completing a research in very effective manner, money is very much essential
for researcher. As for conducting any task or activity it is very much needed for
researcher to have proper money with them, so that they do not face any problem related
to completion. The cost required by researcher for completing the research in appropriate
manner is about £1,000.

5): Gantt chart or work breakdown structure
Work Break Down Structure- It is an overall framework in which overall activities of
the project are divided and sub divided into small parts which could be easily managed and
completed on time (Eckerson, 2010). These structuring of the activities helps in properly
allocating of resources which helps to achieve objectives within the set time frame. This break
down also helps in effectively performance of work by team members which results in better
team spirit and overall easier management of activities.
Gantt Chart
These charts are mainly used for tracking the projects schedule. It determines the amount
of work done or production completed within the stipulated time period. It also helps in proper
planning, tracking and coordinating the activities which are associated with the project.

Risk register is considered as an effective technique which facilitates researcher to
identity the possible risks that may arises while carry out research work and implement actions
accordingly. Thus, to conduct research for Aldo Groups the researcher should prepare an
