INTRODUCTION
ICC Cricket World 2019 was one of the biggest event in this year. It was the 12th time
when this World Cup was conducted by ICC. It was commenced on 30th of May and finished on
14th of July. It was hosted by different cities of England and Wales. There are 10 teams who
participated in this cricket tournament. The number of viewers of it was very high around 2.6
billion individuals watched all the matches around the world (ICC Cricket World Cup, 2019).
The whole tournament was won by England. Different cricketers from different countries have
participated in it and attended it. There are various pre event impacts of this Tournament which
includes economic, socio cultural and environmental. One of the major negative influence of
economic factor of it was that the host country have invested a huge amount for its
commencement. The present report is generated for the the purpose of analysing the post event
impacts of the ICC Cricket World 2019. For this purpose different factors such as economic,
environmental, socio cultural etc. are evaluated in the context of event. Along with this, legacy
or legacies resulting from hosting of the event are also covered in this project.
POST EVENT IMPACT ASSESSMENT
Analysis of positive and negative impacts of economic, environment and socio cultural factors
Economic factors: These are the set of elements which are related to economy of a
country. Different examples of it are interest rate, laws, policy, governmental activities etc. All
of them do not affect a business directly but they can influence the investment for future. Five of
the matches were organised by Birmingham which has resulted in huge benefits for it (Gupta and
Patel, 2019). All the negative as well as positive impacts of the event on England and Wales are
as follows:
Positive impacts:
One of the post event positive impact of the ICC Cricket World on one of the hosting city
of England and Wales which is Birmingham have acquired benefits of 32.1 million
pounds by organising five events of whole tournament. It has increased the national
income and contributed in the development of economy (Kelly, Fairley and O'Brien,
2019). There are various elements which have resulted in huge benefits. These are selling
of tickets, drinks and merchandise, spending of food, money spend by international
visitors in hospitality etc.
