INTRODUCTION Managing time in today's erais very important as this helps in deciding how much duration to spend on the particular activity so that the task can be performed within the given period. Time Management is the method which involves planning and organising about how much time to spend on the specific activity. Proper management of the duration will enable the management of the organisation in performing their task in the most effective and efficient manner so that the goals of the business can be earn in the desired manner. This report is based on the concept of time management and its benefits. The study also focuses on the effective use of the time in appropriate plan of study. Along with this, the reports also study about the obstacles which arises while managing the period in the most effective and efficient manner. MAIN BODY Concept of Time management: Time management is the way of managing a duration in the effective manner so that the desired work can be carried out within the specific period. This is also coined as the process of making the best and effective utilisation of the duration as the time is always considered to be limited. Effective management of the period will allow the individuals to manage the time by assigning the duration slot to the work as per their priorities. Proper and appropriate management of period will lead to certain benefits which will support the individual in increasing their punctuality and also make them disciplined(Macan and et. al., 1990). Benefits of the effective time management are as follows: Propertime management can lead to the reduced level of the stress as if the individual will perform their task so that the short term goal of the business that is to enhance the productivity through collectivism can be achieved.By allocating the proper period the stress associated with the completion of the work will also be reduced and the accurate result will be gathered. Effectivetime management will lead to gain in the self-confidence of the individuals as through the proper time management the individual will able to complete their task in an effective manner as early as they can which will boost their confidence level.This will also help the business in attaining their long term goal to become the renounced across the globe can also be attained. 1
Appropriate time managementis a way to achieve the goals and targets in particular time period. The overall work is diving into distinct duration through which targets are achieved without making any delay.This will leads the business towards the fulfilment of the long term goal through accomplishments of their short terms goals step by step. Better time managementwill also lead to the better planning and forecasting process through which the individual can easily plan and forecast what is important to them on the prior notice and what can be performed later on.This will leads to the achievement of the organisation s short term goals within a limited period of time . Propermanagementofthetimewillalsoprovideanindividualwithbetter opportunities for their growth and development because with the effective utilisation of the duration an individual can complete their task and seek for the opportunities which are prevailing for them in the market place they can also identify the opportunities which are coming on their ways(Rapp, Bachrach and Rapp, 2013).This will lead to the accomplishment of the short as well as long term goal within a duration of time as by proper time management the individual can fullfill their own goals as well as organisations goals in the effective manner. Short term goals : Proper an effective time management also support in achieving the short term goals as short term goals are the pathways to achieve long term goals. By effective time management a students can easily full fill their routine task and can reduce the burden of completing the work this will enable them in lowering down their burden to manage the work with the continuation of the work. Long term goals: Effective time management is a key to achieve long term goals as these will enable the individual in managing their work in a best possible manner and will also lead them in achieving success in both their studied as well as their job courier. How it can help in the design of an appropriate plan of study : Effective time management will also support in designing the appropriate plan of study by dividing the activities which an individual is performing according to their priority. In the context of the above mentioned case study the students studying must schedule their task in such a manner so that the period for other activities can be managed. The students must prepare a To Do List to manage his span for performing the activities where he can write the activities which are to be performed on the prior notice. Obstacles pertaining to effective time management: Managing period is not an easy task as time itself requires a great efforts and devotion. There are number of obstacles which arises while managing the duration in the most effective manner. Below mentioned are the obstacles which hinders the performing of the activities within the duration that is given. Barriers to the effective time management is too many tasks schedule, this is a barrier to the period management as too many task can leads to confusion among the mind of individual regarding hoe to schedule these task in such a manner so that all the activities are performed within the duration of the time(Panek,2014). Too many interruptionswhile performing the task can also leads to decrease in the productivity level of performing the task and can also leads to the increased rate of time for that particular task. The problem of procrastinationis a big issue while managing the time effectively. In this an individual postpone the work for tomorrow due to which it also hampers the work which is to be performed by that date as the burden to carry the task increases (Eerde, 2003). Lack of strategic directionto perform the task may also lead to the hindrance of managing the period properly. As this will focus more on the concept of the centralized power where the task will not be delegate to the employees due to which the task which is to be perform at the early stage may get delayed and cause obstacles in managing the time. Unable to say NOis also a big problem while managing the time in the effective manner as it is defined that saying No is the best answer to avoid the burden of the work. If an individual keep on saying yes to each and every task that is to performed than he won’t be able to understand which is to be performed first and which must be avoided for that period of time which can be a barrier in managing time (Claessens and et. al., 2007). Techniques to overcome obstacles: Make a schedule :This will reduce the problems of too much tasks schedule and will also reduce the burden from the head of individual. Due to which the individual can work within 3
the business in harmonious manner and can retain within the business for longer duration of time. Proper strategic direction :Providing proper and strategic direction to the individual regarding the work that how it should be performed and within how much time it should be completed will enable the individual to carry the operations in such a manner so that their business profitability can be increased. This effective work of the individual will make them recognised by each and every individual in the association and retain them for a longer period of time. CONCLUSION From the preceding study it can be examine that managing the time is essential for every individuals as this will support them in performing the task in their best possible manner with best efforts. Effective time management will also provide them with certain amount of benefits which will boost their morale and confidence to work effectively. Along with this the study on the obstacles which arises while managing the time effectively is also done so that the barriers can be determined and some measures can be taken. 4
