1. Overview of individuals' biography
and career highlights
■ Entrepreneur Richard Branson, head of Virgin Company was born in England on 18th of
July in 1950.
■ Edward James Branson, father of Richard Branson was a Barrister and his mother was a
flight attendant.
■ He initiated his life cycle with a disability called dyslexia and struggled with it for long
time period.
■ He initiated his career life cycle at the age of 16 with a magazine publication

2. Introduction to key operations of organisation they
transformed
■ Virgin company transformed its business activities with inclusion of different strategic
approaches in terms of employees' engagement, participation and other related
activities.
■ Virgin company performed a major transformation to its tag line and brand name.
■ It has opted for expansion of its business within different geographical areas by
developing its mobile telephone models.

3. Evaluation internal and external
operation management environments
For internal operation management of Virgin Group, Swot analysis can be conducted to
assess its internal capabilities with external threats.

Apart from the above mentioned internal factors there are also many external or macro level
factors which will be impacting leadership style of Richard Branson. These include like that

Democratic approach
■ In way of improving the efficiency of operation and that of employees it is very much
important that Richard Branson is using Democratic approach to leadership.
■ In this approach it is very much essential for the leader that he is been able to implement
this approach so that their efficiency is improving.
■ With the help of democratic approach the leader will be able to give all employees equal
and fair chance to decide over any activity so that their efficiencies are improved.

■ For improving the productivity of employees managers must be emphasising on giving
up targets to all employees so that they know what their target are.
■ Thus this will be very much important that manager is planning for meeting out all
objective of company which will be improving the efficiency of organisation.

5. Conclusion and recommendation
■ From the above section it could be concluded that there are many factors both internal
and external which are impacting the decision making process of Richard Branson.
These including like the internal strength of company which will be flourishing his
leadership style and the need to know the external factors as well.
■ This is very much important that for the future consideration Richard Branson should be
taking up different factors which are affecting the business environment and then the
wider community.
