This article delves into the racial worldview of Marcus Garvey, the Black Moses, and his mission to achieve political and economic independence for Africans and black control in religious, cultural, and educational organizations. Garvey's ideology was based on the doctrine of racial purity and his slogan 'Africa for the Africans'. He founded the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA) and successfully convinced Afro-Americans to support his movement. However, his ideology of separatism and racial purity was not supported by his contemporaries such as Philip Randolph and Du Bois.
