Introduction
This report brings out a discussion Salvation Army in Hong Kong. In order to depict the
effects on Salvation Army, the report analyses three factors of PESTLE analysis. PESTLE
Analysis is a tool, which is used by the marketers to evaluate and check the macro-
environmental factors, which affect the organisation (2019 INDEX OF ECONOMIC
FREEDOM, 2018).
The Salvation Army is an international charitable entity. The company reports that it has a
worldwide membership of 1.7 million people (NGOs, 2019). The founders try to salvation for
poor, hungry, officers, soldiers, and destitute so that it could meet physical and the spiritual
needs (NGOs, 2019). Along with Hong Kong, the organisation operates in more than 131
countries by running shelters for the homeless people, humanitarian assistance to the
developing nations. The main purpose of army is the advancement of Christian religion of the
relief of education, poverty, and other charitable objects that is necessary for the benefit of
the society and humankind (Law, & Lee, 2016).
Background of Hong Kong
The country became special administrative region of People`s republic of China. In 2016,
Hong Kong had population of nearly 7.367 million and it is estimated that it will increase
7.72 million by 2022 (Lee, & Restrepo, 2015).

These factors come up with the degree of intervention of the government in economy, which
will include political stability, government policy, foreign trade policies, environmental laws,
labour laws, democracy, governance system, probability of armed conflicts, and trade
