Analysing the marketing environment 2Task 1: Auditing your organisations’ internal and external environmentsAudit of Internal Environment:The audit of the internal environment has been conducted on KFC Bahrain which is one of the most reputed fast food retail chains in the world and also in Bahrain. One of the most effective tools for internal audit and analysis for an organization is the Porter’s Value Chain Analysis that was developed by Michael Porter in the year 1980. The value chain analysis hasreferred to five of the activities of a firm those are considered to be its primary activities. They are as follows:Primary ActivitiesInbound logistics- These activities relate to the inbound activities of a firm such as receipt, storage and distribution of inputs or raw materials. The supplier relationship isthe key in the success of this stage.Operations- This phase consists of all the activities those convert the inputs into outputs those are finally sold to the consumers. The value creation of the operational functions is the key in this stage.Outbound logistics- In this stage, the products or services are delivered to the end-users or consumers. It includes activities such as collection, distribution channels those might be external as well as internal to the organization. Marketing and sales- These are the activities undertaken by an organization for selling their products and services to the consumers through effective marketing and promotional strategies. The idea is to persuade the consumers into the products and services of own organization.After-sales service- This is the last stage that is no less significant than the previous ones in terms of satisfying customers. It consists of all the services those are offered for maintaining the value of the product or services to the consumers once the productor service has been sold [ CITATION Min181 \l 16393 ].Secondary ActivitiesThe value chain consists of four secondary activities as follows:

Analysing the marketing environment 3Firm infrastructure- It consists of the general functions of management such as finance and accounting, legal department, health and safety departments and others.Procurement- The procurement consists of the acquiring of the goods and services those are needed for effective operations of the firm and they encompass both primaryand secondary activities.Human resource management- The Human Resource functions consists of the operations such as recruitment & selection, compensation strategy formulation, training & development, performance appraising, career and growth planning, etc.Technology development- This process encompasses the research and development undertaken for improving and upgrading the current products and services.Value Chain Analysis of KFC Bahrain:From the above diagram, the key elements of value chain are determined for KFC. Audit of Micro Environment:The micro-environment of an organization is audited with the help of Porter’s Five Forces Analysis.
