Portfolio refer to a set of essential elements that has been used by an individual for
specific reason whether it is personal or professional. It encompasses different types of skills,
activities and other important as well as useful components, that contribute to achieve strategic
aims and objectives. The current assignment will be based on varied elements such as note
taking, source of information, referencing and paraphrasing. It will also justify plagiarism and
presentation skills along with their brief description. The study will clarify some activities for
students related to all terms in prescribe manner.

Note taking
Note taking is defined as procedure of preparing essential documents that an individual
may use according to situation (Huang, Jeng and Lai, 2021). For example, students conduct this
activity for purpose of making exam preparation that is necessary for them to do so. It is not just
about writing down key data that learners may hear. Note taking refer to procedure of reviewing,
synthesizing and connecting excellent ideas from notebooks, lectures and online articles.
This process help students to concentrate on what they are reading, listening and
watching and comprehend new data as well as that they may apply to achieve desire outcomes.
Group note is one of the best activity that a learner conduct to write down the essential
notes and use during specific time duration. Some students prefer to outlet the lecture or
highlight the para which they consider as important and useful. These are those activities that

that caters a thorough, argument, well defied concept and discussion. While non-reliable source
is used in academic writing, and they are extremely essential to use.

Books, newspapers, magazines, peer reviewed journals, articles, public library, scholarly
articles, educational institution and websites where academic institutes provide study material,
are included in category of reliable sources. Each source plays vital role to complete the work
and make it reliable.
Wikipedia, blogs, personal websites, self-published sources, online sources, blocks of
web pages, formus and more are covered in category of non-reliable sources. It is quite important
for students to use each source in effective and appropriate manner, which enable them to take
pleasure of completing work or project on time.
Referencing and paraphrasing.
Referencing is defined as action of acknowledging sources in the structure of own work.
It is also referred to process of making individual work presentable and reliable, away from
making that a plagiarism content. It may permit students to acknowledge the support of other
writers and investigatory in their work.
While paraphrasing is decision of presenting creative ideas and information in own
works, which is not that easy for anyone to do that effectively and systematically (Pandey and
et.al., 2020). Creative and talented students are able to conduct both of these activities in
effective manner, in term of reading a content and then write down the same in own words.
Harvard referencing form uses references in two areas in a piece of writing. For example,
this style of reference is used in text and at the end of work or study. In general, each writer or
author name that may appears in the content must also look in the list of references that show
reliability and plagiarism free work of learners. Majority of students are able to use the Harvard
references.
Plagiarism
It refers to procedure of representing someone else work in term of own writing, without
using others work without approval (Sorea and Repanovici, 2020). It is an academic integrity
that may put negative impact on students work and their image in front of tutors who teach them
and expect to gain better outcomes of all their efforts they put on each student.
In the academic world there are different types of methods and techniques are accessible
that used to avoid plagiarism and make work plag free, which is quite important for learners to
do so in appropriate manner. The best way to avoid plagiarism is paraphrasing, which drive the
attention of learners toward understanding the study material and write in own words, instead of

doing copy paste. It is necessary for them to do that because it may put direct impact on their
work, knowledge level and other growth elements negatively.
Another approach that they may take into their consideration is quote, it may drive their
concentration toward taking ideas and words from a reliable source and combine them in own
writing.
Presentation skills
It can be said that presentation skill play significant role in growth and success of
individual person. It contributed to make their work presentable and satisfactory, which is
important for students to do that in such way. There are different factors accessible that are
related to chosen competence. For example, students may show their passion and connect with
other people who are taking interest to read their ideas and comprehend, to take that forward.

understanding about it. Technology advancement is also considered as a factor that put direct
impact on presentation skills of learners. It may provide students chance to work with amazing
digital technologies in term of presenting and designing a presentation, with attractive images
