REFLECTION
Being an employee in the Marks and Spencer company I have several kinds of roles and
responsibilities toward company. I am working in the marketing department in the cited venture
where I have to develop a presentation about the customer goods and services of company, sales,
market share, strategies and policies. For accomplishing this task, my marketing manager have
asked me to design a well skilled and effective team of 10 members who have knowledge about
the marketing and prepare attractive presentation. For this task of marketing presentation, I have
developed a team according to the concept of Tuckmen group development. During this period
of team development I have suffered from four stages of group development which discussed
below-
Forming- In this first stage, all member have just came in the team. I have analysed that
all team members was too polite and positive.
Storming- In this stage, all member shared their opinion, thoughts, skills, knowledge and
idea about the work with each other and tried to be familiar with each other. By this task I
have improved my interaction skill because in this stage, I have opportunity to enhance
my interaction and familiar skill.
Norming- In this stage, people started to push against the boundaries established in the
forming stage. At this time , my all team member understand the required task and work
for design a beautiful and attractive presentation for company. In this I have also defined
all roles, policies, practices of the team to each team member due to which my
coordination and communication skill has been improved.
Performing-While all member effectively understood the task and their responsibility
toward the team objective, all of them started work toward to prepare the presentation. In
this stage, I have improved my learning skill where I have learnt something from every
individual in the team. This stage assisted me in enhancing my learning, analytical and
observation skill.
Adjourning- In this stage teams exist for a fixed period. At this stage, I have analysed
that I have effective bounding with other because all member has appreciated my work as
well as my behaviour. In this stage, I was too emotional because all member have to wind
up the team
