Introduction
Teamwork is the combined efforts of a group for achieving a common target or finish a task
effectively and efficiently. The basic needs of an efficient teamwork are team size, sufficient
resources, guidance from supervisor and clearly-defined roles in the team. The paper will
analyze the practices of teamwork in regards to undertake the marketing project. It will discuss
the assigning and application of team roles in practice regarding the marketing project. It will
also evaluate the dynamics of team relating to the capacities, capabilities, practices,
characteristics and strengths essential for successful teamwork while successfully completing the
marketing project. Moreover, it will identify the personal effectiveness for future while engaging
in teamwork.
Reflection
During the week 8, we were allocated into group to work on individual phase report, final group
project report & presentation. There are 5 phases in total but, only four phases was needed to
work as individual report. Therefore, four of us chose the phase which were going to be assigned
to us out of phase 1 to 4. We chose the phase for doing individually by fair and equal decisions
by each member. I got Phase 1 which Basic Demand Conditions as my individual report and the
rest also got their part. Phase 2 was Nature of Industry Marketing and Competitive Positioning
Strategies, Phase 3 was Supply Conditions and Intermediaries and Phase 4 was the current
Australian Marketplace and Phase 5 was The Future. Phase 1 to 4 was the part of individual
phase report and Phase 5 was the part of final group project report.
In week 9, all the students were mandatory to be at university to attend the presentation by the
growing potential executive team for Individual Phase Report and Final Group Report. The
company chosen was Growing Potential and it focus on to work with the Growing Early Minds.
The marketing problem was focused on Growing Early Minds and attending this presentation
helped us in our individual report and group project. In week 10 all the students worked on their
own phase in class with the tutor and the students helped each other with the phases as individual
phase was due in this week. Before week 11 class, tutor sent an email to all the groups and the
email was about what we would do in week 11 class. Tutor scheduled the appointment for each
group to meet with the tutor face to face in week 11 class.

The night before the scheduled time with tutor, we had an online group discussion and shared
our phase reports with each group member, read all the four phases and understood the
suggestion of each person and had a group meeting prior to our consultation to share each other’s
ideas at least 2 paths of Blue Ocean Strategy (BOS) and discussed with me at the consultation.
At the next day of appointment with tutor, we had a group meeting at university to allocate our
part for Phase 5 The future and to finalize the BOS solutions for Growing Early Minds.
In week 12, we had a group meeting after the class for discussing about the last phase, Phase 5
which was the future BOS and the group presentation. Along with our individual report, we
divided some of the parts from Phase 5 and worked together on the BOS. During the weekends,
we called our group and had an online chat to discuss about the Phase 5 and helped one another
on what needs to be done. In week 13, before the day of presentation, we had a group meeting on
campus to practice on the group presentation. We double checked the PowerPoint slides, helped
each other and finished our Final Group Report.
While completing the marketing project, as team roles, I got SH and IMP, Erin got CO and SH,

difficulties to cope with new circumstances. I can make a good manager, is excellent at sparkling
life in the team and useful for my team. As a team member, my strengths are that I have
organizing skills and is hardworking, ready and driven to challenge the inertia, inefficiency, self-
deception and complacency. As a team member, my weaknesses are tendency to offend my team
members, prone to provocation, impatience and lacks flexibility.
The Co-coordinator (CO) and SH team roles of Erin has implied that as a team member, she is
confident, calm, controlled, highly motivated, dynamic and outgoing. She is excellent at

capacity to prevent interpersonal issues in the team and enable all the team members for

team members and circumstances, fulfill her promises, promote the spirit of the team and work
to the highest standards. As a team member, her weaknesses are that she tends to be anxious on
trivial matters, become indecisive at the crisis moments and fails to provide clear leads to the
team members.
