Company overview
The chosen organistaion for this poster is Marriott
Hotel, it was founded in 1957 with an aim to
provide full service resort and hotel facility to its
customers. The brand was founded by J. Willard
Marriott.
Foundation Year Research Project
Past operation
The past operation of Marriott Hotel
was healthy as their growth and
profitability is increasing. The success
rate of hotel is increasing rapidly due
to Airbnb in spring 2019 as it offers
private residence alternative to hotel
rooms to its customers. In the month
of May to august 2019, the
performance of Marriott get boost and
they generated high revenue. In 2017,
Marriott has also invested in
Placepass, it is a Boston based
platform that focuses on listing tours
and activities (Nelson and et. al.,
2020). The brand also focus on
reducing the negative impact on
environment by minimizing waste and
carbon emission, managing energy
and waste use and also increasing the
use of renewable energy.
Future operations
Marriott is more focused on expanding their reach
worldwide and ensures that they provide high
experiences to its customers in terms of hospitality.
The purpose of Marriott hotel is to increase their
customer base by offering high standard of services
that makes them feel satisfied. In future, Marriott is
focused on adopting digitalization due to which they
invest in new technology that helps in improving the
engagement level of customers and also provides
better services (Biswas, 2021).
Goals
The goal of Marriott hotel is to put people first,
pursue excellence, embrace change, act with
integrity and serving to world.

Current operational issues
The present operation of Marriott has
changed due to pandemic as it
becomes difficult to survive in
competitive environment. Marriott has
faced severe loss due to lockdown and
travel restriction imposed by
government across the world. COVID
19 has badly influenced the financial
performance of Marriott (Ozdemir
and et. al., 2021). The hotel has took
number of steps to adapt and
strengthen its operation and business
performance including minimising
cost and improving its liquidity.
