MATHEMATICS EDUCATION, PHOBIA AND ACHIEVEMENT
Mathematics is usually utilized as well as applied throughout the aspects associated with
human efforts to solve any critical problem in life by an accurate means. This particular
discussion briefly throws light on teaching of mathematical modelling in higher education
studies, the fear it usually create among studies due to the difficulties they have to deal with
while solving problems, and various achievements that have been secured by Mizoram
students in the country India (Meganathan, 2015).. Concepts on mathematical modelling like
Curvilinear Coordinates or Crystalline Curvature Equation Flow equations associate certain
functions that can be apparently drawn from a series of stimuli through various sorts of
interactions and they help in creation of various systems on dynamics or they might help to
build certain models on statistics. A student in Mizoram when unable to communicate his or
her thinking to grasp the concepts finds the subject difficult and they develop phobia against
that subject (Meganathan, 2015). Various secondary schools as well as colleges show wide
degradation in performance in mathematics by the rate of 11-12% marks and it is seen that
pupils score lesser marks in this subject compared to other subjects. However researchers
think that even if good resources, good guide books or special coaching classes are rendered
to them in this state, then also they might not be able to show improvement. To understand
these critical models in the subject, it is necessary that a student must develop familiarity with
the language of Mathematics. There also exist positive form of relationship between attitudes
of students towards Mathematics with achievement in this field. Due to implementation of
teaching through computer technologies, pupils in Mizoram are gradually developing an urge
to learn Mathematics in an easier manner as they get access to various applications in
computer where they need to apply mathematical modelling theories. Intelligence or IQ level
of students play a significant role as many rural areas in the state of Mizoram where children
grow up, from their very childhood they have to involve themselves in physical labour and
they do not avail good care, food or nutrition therefore due to lack of basic requirements their
