like heroin. Excessive
consumption of opioid,
especially in combination
with other drugs, could
lead to opioid overdose
which is often
characterized by
respiratory depression

RESEARCH FINDINGS
Despite the fact that the opioid crisis
is rising at an alarming rate, most
hospitals lack support and
infrastructure to provide effective
treatment for the same. This has
resulted in increase in deaths due to
opioid overdose (Drugabuse.gov).
