Mayo Clinic formerly known as the Mayo Clinic Jacksonville operates as a non-profit
healthcare organization (HCO) which aims to efficiently provide wide ranging health care
facilities as well as programs related to healthcare education, investigation along with other
patient care services (Mayoclinic.org, 2018). Mayo clinic is considered as the first and leading
non-profit association practice at global level and further employs around 4000 physicians and
scientists and further is known as one of the most reputed health care organizations in the United
States. The following paper intends to analyze the external forces of the organization by
thoroughly evaluating the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threat factors determining the
growth of the organization.

Strengths
Mayo clinic comprises broad array of strengths which tends to provide the organization
with high competitive advantages in the health care domain (Mayoclinic.org, 2018). The clinic
further fundamentally purposes to ensure proper alignment of its operational activities with its
mission (Mayoclinic.org, 2018).
The primary mission of the organization lies in developing hope and providing valuable
contribution to the welfare and health of the patients by offering efficient health care
services through exploration, education and clinical practices (Trastek et al., 2014).
Furthermore, Mayo clinic has been observed to invest significantly in the domains of
innovation and research in order to enhance the health conditions of its patient base
through supreme quality care and services (Chen et al., 2013).
The organization comprises of efficient teams which are involved in multidisciplinary
inquiry that has further aided in rapid discoveries of new and improved treatment as well
as prevention tools and mechanisms (Mayoclinic.org, 2018).
Mayo further essentially aims to provide comprehensive perspective on the patients’ level
of experiences and exhibits a tendency to emphasize on excellence in proficiency,
knowledge, expertise along with a wide range of concerned and sympathetic employee
