Brief summary of research This study focuses on evaluating the impact of corporate social responsibility (CSR) on brand loyalty based on a case study of Takeda pharmaceutical company, OTC (over-the-counter) medicines* in the Japanese market. 1.Why have I been asked to participate? This study focuses on adults who purchase OTC (over-the-counter) medicines in Japan. 2.What will I be asked to do? Firstly, the demographic information will be asked by the participants, experience of purchasing OTC medicines and your selection criteria for OTC medicines as closed-ended questions. Secondary, your awareness, view and evaluation for Takeda CSR activities will be asked as close-ended questions. Lastly your expectation to Takeda CSR activities will be asked as an open- ended question. It will take around 15-20 minutes for this survey through Google Forms. You can avoid answering any questions if you do not wish to. There will be both open and close-ended questions. For the open ended questions, you can send your opinions and thoughts within limited word count. 3.Will my participation in the study be kept confidential? Yes,yourparticipationinthestudywillbekeptconfidential.Ifsomething confidential information is given, it is marked ‘confidential’.As for anonymity, an individualcannotbeidentifiedfromtheinformationinbothquestionnaire (Google Forms) and its analysis. The results will be written in ananonymized format.Every attempt will be made to ensureanonymity,but it may not be possible to guarantee complete obscurity. 4.What are the likely benefits of taking part? There will not be any direct benefits to participants. The main benefit is to be educational because of master’s research. However, there are few previous studies related to this theme and the findings will be useful for enterprise’s CSR activities. 5.Are there any possible disadvantages or risks to taking part? There could be a risk of boredom and fatigue as the questionnaire would take 15-20 minutes to complete. Participants can avoid this risk by taking breaks whenever necessary.There also could be a risk of anonymity as described in No.3.Participating in the study does not affect participant’s legal rights. 6.Whether I can withdraw at any time and how? Yes, it can be withdrawan from the study at any time without giving a reason. Participants can send an e-mail to y.sakagu1@gmail.com stating that he/she needs to withdraw.
