Introduction
Organizational behavior is the understanding of behavior of all the people involved in the organization and who
contribute their effort for the benefit of the organization. In the present context of organizational behavior, the
importance of the role of the managers and the employees in an organization have been explained taking into
consideration their interaction and behavior within the company. As of analysis has been done on the role of leader,
motivational theories and relevant theories have been summarized to give support to the understanding.

MOTIVATION is the word derived from the word ’motive ‘which means needs, desires, wants or drives within the
individuals. It is the process of stimulating people to actions to accomplish the goals. In the work goal context the
psychological factors stimulating the people’s behavioral be –
● Desire for money
● Success
● Recognition
● Job-satisfaction
● Team work, etc .
One of the most important functions of management is to create willingness amongst the employees to perform
in the best of their abilities .Therefore the role of a leader is to arouse interest in performance of employees in
their jobs.
