INTRODUCTION
Microsoft office is combination of various tools which constitutes of Microsoft windows,
access, power point and excel. It performs various tasks such as edit text, create and images. The
data is presented in charts and posters (Mehla and et.al., 2019). The following report includes the
information about McDonald's and available data which is related to market capitalisation,
revenue earned and number of employees. Microsoft excel performs various functions such as
maximum, minimum, count and sum. This helps in analysing the data based on different tools
used to perform various tasks. Descriptive statistics are used such as mean, median and mode,
these can be calculated by using functions of Microsoft excel.
MAIN BODY
1. Explain the research topic of McDonald's.
McDonald's is an American Multinational company which deals in fast food products. It
was established in the year 1940 by Richard and Maurice. It is mostly known for its
cheeseburgers, French fries and hamburgers. The company has various subsidiaries such as Mc
Cafe, create your own restaurants and Mc Drive. The topic discussed in the project is regarding
the improvements of business performance by utilising the latest technology. The data contains
number of employees, revenue and market capitalisation (McDonald, Boulton and Davis, 2018).
2. Collection of raw data regarding revenue, number of employees and market capitalisation.
Raw data is collected from the source of origin which includes information regarding:
Market Capitalisation: It is denoted by the value of share in stock market multiplied by
the total number of shares of the company.
Number of employees: Every organisation works with number of employees whom
provides their services.
Revenue: It is the income generated by the organisation after deducting all the expenses
incurred in business operations.

5. Critically analyse the functions of excel and analyse the results of calculations.
Microsoft excel is the tool of Microsoft office which helps in performing complex calculations.
There are various functions of excel which can be described as given below:
SUM: The function of Sum helps to add the values of the given data. This function is performed
by putting the sign = (). The brackets contain the number of rows, for which the addition is
required. The sum of the market capitalisation rate is 989.28 and the total of the revenue is
156.67 and sum of the employees is 1840000. It helps in knowing the total of all the data which
is taken for the McDonalds (Williamson and et.al., 2021).

COUNT: The function of count in excel helps to know the number of observations in the
given data. It can be easily computed by = COUNT (). in brackets, the number of rows
for which the sum is required, it will be included. The market capitalisation, revenue and
number of employees and count of these three components are seven.
Maximum: It is another function of excel which helps to take the derive the highest
value from the data. This function can be performed by =MAX (). The maximum value
for the market capitalisation rate is 200.31. In case of revenue, the highest value will be
25.31 and in case of number of employees, the maximum value will be 420000.
Mean: It is a measure of central tendency which helps in representing the complete data.
It is a statistical technique which helps in further arithmetic calculation. The mean of the
market capitalisation is 141.3257143 and average value for revenue is 22.3814. the
average value of the number of employees is 262857.1429. This measure of central
tendency is impacted by the extreme values.
Median: The median is the another measure of central tendency which is the mid value of the
data. In case of even and odd observations, there is a difference between computation of median.
The mid value for the market capitalisation rate is 137.21, the median for the revenue is 22.82.
Another component is number of employees; the value of median is 210000 (McDonald and
et.al., 2020).
CONCLUSION
From the above report, it can be concluded that data is a raw facts and figures which are
helpful in extracting the meaningful information. The McDonald's is an American multinational
fast food corporation. The excel include various functions such as minimum, maximum, count
and sum. The graphical representation of the data helps to get the clear view of the information.
There are various measures of central tendency such as mean and median. These statistical
techniques help in representing the whole data.
