Introduction
McKesson touches every aspect of well-being and healthcare. McKesson has strong
associations with hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and pharmacies to build the best
organizations and provide better care to the patients. A patient can be recovered only when the
whole system is healthy.
Global Operations
The McKesson needs to expand its operations globally and global logistics manager will
play a pivotal role in this regard. Foremost, working across the different business geographies
and management levels, McKesson Corporation needs to have an understanding of the
international functions. The effective implementation of freight operations in Canada and North
America requires robust interpersonal engagements (Reimann and Ketchen 3-9). The company
needs to get familiar with international imports and customs entries. These include commercial
invoices, bills of lading, custom entries, steamship documentation procedures and freight
documentation. The McKesson needs to employ a global compliance, logistics executive who
understands the Canadian, European Customs and U.S. free trade agreements and entry
regulations and tariff procedures (Kujawa 3-4).

INCOTERMS
Incoterms are rules that define the roles and responsibilities of buyers and sellers for
delivering the goods, determined the sales contract. McKesson Corporation needs to adhere to
following INCOTERMS.
1. The global logistics department of McKesson Corporation must have direct experiences
in FDA, C-TPAT requirements. The legal compliance manager must have the working
practices in Asia and closely work with the security department.
2. McKesson Corporation must do audit, preparation of supplier and follow Cross Border
Protection rules (CBP).
3. The company must maintain the exceptional day to day relationships with all the key
stakeholders in the supply chain. These include-freight forwarders, manufacturers,
carriers and different business units.
4. The company must execute global freight strategy for all its international operations,
including freight and transportation modes.
5. The overall management of freight business which includes brokers, markets,
associations, routes and existing partners throughout the globe.
6. The company must engage in maximum resource utilization and streamlining the
processes (Svensson 16-20).
7. The McKesson Company needs to work closely with international teams to take
appropriate decisions which are aligned with the strategic goals.
The company needs to engage in alignments with purchasing and product development
groups, legal compliance, product managers, purchasing for the collection of requisite data.

A legal compliance with shipping requirements and product classification is necessary. The
management team must work with the international team on annual processes and must be in
communication with internal employees. The reward and risk scenarios must be evaluated
and appropriate decisions streamlined with strategic goals must be evaluated. The McKesson
employees contribute to the vision and mission through improving the lives and enhanced
health care systems. The personnel must be compassionate and talented to help millions of
people all over the globe (Tachizawa and Wong 18-32).
Conclusion
The McKesson Corporation must engage in producing the presentation over freight
budget versus targets for global operations to the board of directors. The company must be able
to manage cost reduction and business improvements and utilizing the Free Trade Zone (FTZ).
The company has abilities to work in the changing environment and can lead the transition
process. Traveling will be required at both regional and international levels.
