2009 as a global for site project (CSIRO,2012). The main objective of this kind of project is to
inform internal as well as long range investment choices of planning. various information and
data is provided by this team in order to manage the megatrends within the tourism and travel
industry.

The first mega trend is more from less. There is drastic change in the global population
across the world. In UK, there are people who have come from various countries or regions for
tourism and travelling. As there is growth in population since last 10 years, the tourism and
travel industry has been impacted a lot.

From the statistics, it is analysed that population of Africa is growing at a faster rate and it can be
concluded that it will be doubled by 2050. On the other hand, the population of Europe is
shrinking. In context of Latin America, there is high mortality. In Japan, the average rate of age
in 2050 will be 53. This kind of demographics has concluded that there are implications of
tourism at both local as well as global level (Abeyratne, (2017)). Because of state development
of economics, there is increase in the contribution of travel and tourism.

There are both opportunity as well as challenges faced because of the mega trend..
according to travel and tourism industry, it is found that there is multifaceted demand shift on the
basis of generational changes and also demographic changes. The hospitality industry is

basically designed for catering the middle aged business and also for leisure tourist of advanced
economy. The opportunity within this megatrend is that the areas where population is increasing,
the tourism and hospitality industry can enhance the business. On the other hand, the main
challenge is to manage the different generations by doing continuous innovation in the service.
Recommendation how to overcome on these challenges(100 words)
These challenges can be overcome by doing innovations which are like by different
generations of population. Basically, there are various travel preferences for generation Z tourist.
This is concluded that because of the hi access to information as well as higher education, this
type of travel segment must be provided innovation so that travel and tourism industry can be
profitable. Also so there will be e some services specially for the middle aged people who want
to have luxurious stay and travel for business purpose.
Explain political /social cultural / Economic Factors that influence the emerging mega trend in
Hospitality and tourism industry(100 Words)
Political factors - when operating services in different countries, it is important that population
of that country is analysed properly and different legal and political issues in that country must
be evaluated. This helps a company of travel and tourism to have good and profitable business in
that country (ALI, (2017)). Social and cultural factors - according to the population of different
countries, the perspective and demands of customer associated with different age groups are
having their own needs from travel and tourism industry. Economic factors - these are associated
with economic factors of a country such as inflation rate, deflation rate, tags and trade rules. As
the population is increased, economical development of a country will also be affected.
Gradually, travel and tourism industry will also be affected.
