INTRODUCTION
Healthcare industry is rapidly increasing day by day especially after the occurrence of the
recent pandemic Covid19. From this incidence people are now more aware about their health and
care process of themselves. Thus, this pandemic brings a lot of mental stress on the people and
leads them to harm their mental ability and health which overall started impacting their physical
body as well. In this study, a man whose name is Mark born in South Africa and relocated to
United Kingdom has suffered from the mental stress and had went to a psychiatrist for a review.
The case study has mentioned the detail where Mark was facing the mental health issue and
needs advice and proper care as well. Being a social worker, it is the responsibility to support the
Mark to enhance the confidence and motivation so that Mark can be able to live more
independently by understanding and achieving the set goals and targets.
Social worker is responsible for promoting the social change and development and supports
the people to solve the social problems (Howe, Kohli, Smith, Parkinson, McMahon and et.al.,
2018). Mark has no family as his marriage was already ended in 2009 from where he started
living alone and independently. He has nobody to look out after him where he was feeling more
conscious and anxiety which harms his mental health. The Human Rights Act 1998, law has
been announced by the government where the legislation is defining the rights and
freedoms fromwhich everyone living in the country UK can be entitled. However, the
government of United Kingdom has implemented some rules and legislation for the betterment
of the mental health care patient where “Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007”
provides the protection to the adult people of risk and harm and secure their life ( Li, Wang, Xue,
Zhao and Zhu, 2020). Also, the Mental Health Care and treatment (Scotland) Act, 2003 helps
and increases the rights of the people with mental disorders and protects their rights and supports
them to get the best treatment. This report will be an analysis of the areas from where Mark can
be able to get the best treatment plan for his addiction in order to support his mental health and
will provide the best solution for the betterment of life.
Overview of study
Marks was born in South Africa where he married in 1999 with his wife and the marriage
was ended in2009. After that he has spent the two years after the divorce in England and
