INTRODUCTION
Health and social care refers to the activity that are related to services that has been
provided by wellness and societal care suppliers within the UK. It provides treatment of ill
health and medical conditions within the hospitals or health care centres who greatly provide
support to vulnerable people basically in the community (Dyer, 2020). Their basic aim is to help
people of diversified areas to live their lives in prosperous and healthy manner despite their
certain disabilities which are either emotional or physical in nature. In order to handle such kind
of patients within the society, the care centres requires special health care workers who are
highly efficient in order to handle the patients and their disabilities with the help of their
specialized skills and attributes.
This report will highlight the concept of health and social care with the help of selection
of two articles which is related to the mental health challenges faced by varied people during the
Covid-19 pandemic situation.
MAIN BODY
1. Introduction about the mental health status of people during Covid-19 by considering current
research
The coronavirus disease creates a situation which arises the position of utilising social
distancing measures that have been implemented by many countries in order to avoid the
negative impacts over the general lives. It greatly affects the mental status and health of the
children's as well as healthcare professionals all across the world in their own respective ways.It
makes the schools suspended nationwide almost in around 200 countries as per the data provided
by UNESCO (Mahase, 2020). Over 90% of young people or learners are out of education due to
the negative impacts of corona virus. For children's and teenagers with mental health
requirements, this type of closure means a lack of access towards the significant resources that
usually have during their school sessions. A survey that has been conducted by the NHS states
that the mental health illness among the children's increased drastically because of such
pandemic situation and around 26% of teenagers are unable to access mental health support
system as well (Kim, U. and Bhullar, 2020). It is because of the reason that due to corona virus,
peer support groups and face to face services have been cancelled and also creates challenges
with the phone and online support.

In context of healthcare professionals who are also faced a lot of mental stress and
pressure because of the reason by taking impossible decisions and worked under extreme
pressures generates various mental health issue among them as well. They are in great dilemma
to balance their own physical and mental healthcare needs with those of patients. They are
highly confused regarding aligning their duties and desires with those to family and friends and
the ways through which they have to provide services and care for all severely unwell patients
with restricted and inadequate resources. As per the views of NICE, it has been stated that an
estimated that various number of people or teenagers faced mental health issues because of the
pandemic situation, out of which 10-20% are still facing mental health problems or are still
under that condition and yet remain undiagnosed or under treatment (Son and et.al., 2020).

Evidence based practices, which could be seems importance of the research in health and
social care. While this could provided with having the most effective manner care which might
be available with the main aim for improving the patients outcomes. As health issues which have
become the part of every wellbeing that could also led them for working and make sure for
having the improvement about the wellbeing issues (Yawson, 2021). EBP promotes more about
the attitude which inquiry about the health professionals and states more about how usually they
are working. As health professional this could play crucial role and keep them for knowing
about how the issues that can be solve and create more improvement.
The main health issues which was created due to having covid-19 through which the
social care and health system need to work more for their patients better outcomes. EBP also
play the role for ensuring about the health resource which have been used wisely and keeping
the work for which the various resources are being required. As the importance for research in
health and keeping the estimated about the system (Kadykalo and et.al., 2021). As per survey,
NHS which states more about that high rate of the health issues which might be due to having
the pandemic and this crucial play the role for which the effective manner. This could come to
know about how usually the health care and system which could work for the patients and keep
them for working with better outcomes.
This could put more practice about the learned issues for which the research will care
more about how they are working. Implementing evidence based practice within the complexity
