SYSTEM VISION DOCUMENT2 Problem description Each nation globally is toiling to improve their medical services to the citizens. Due to this there have been changes when it comes to the health sector, many have began to adopt implementation of new health system that improves services that are offered to them(Dennis, Wixom & Tegarden, 2015). An example of a mental health intervention system is NewAccess, which have been found to help the youth aged 17 to 25. This system mainly targets depression and anxiety patients, and when these problems are identified to the mental illness patients’ proper medical attention could be provided. This system has been based on the desire to assist health sector to keep process of reforming drive efficiencies such as Headspace organization. it is recommended that the new system be develop since it would; help enhance the quality of health, and improve the data that is shared to the patient, such as reducing on the rate of hospital admission due to prescribed medication(Dennis, Wixom & Tegarden, 2015). With the system, it would allow the doctors, hospitals and healthcare providers to view and share personal data to provide better care. The problem encountered by Headspace organization was the young persons with the mental illness might see multiple professional before they could get the help they want. They are expected to retell their story each time they visit a medical staff in the hospital emergency department, or psychologist. But with the development of the new system the story would be captured for the first time it is told. This would provide successive professional case notes and story which is enriched and the young mental individuals would get the assistance they require appropriately. System capabilities This system would be much cost efficient to the Headspace organization when they implement it. The program will have the capability to distribute data of the patient all across the various
SYSTEM VISION DOCUMENT3 departments in the hospital with ease and accuracy(Munzner, 2014). The system will provide the platform that enables patients to be able to register their data online from everywhere they are irrespective of the country and they would have access summary of their personal health information(Harris, 2016). The system would have an enabled management of the patient record which will be efficient and this would make treatment decision to be much easier(Duckett & Willcox, 2015). The current issue the patients are encountering is re-tell their stories again and this is harder for the professionals to offer them help. With the new system functionalities would promote faster diagnosis of their problem since all will be under one system such as the patient data diagnoses, lab results, and even decision support capability for every patient case(Harris, 2016). When it comes to the decision support capabilities the system has the ability to alert the health care providers on the potential drug and their interactions on various cases(Duckett & Willcox, 2015). Additionally, the system has been enhanced with latest security technology and this ensures that patient health data is secured from access from the unauthorized individuals (Montgomery, 2017). This ensures there is improvement of the securing of patient information and there is a better facilitation to understand health problems the mental patients are facing, since all the reports are intact. Business benefits The overall aim of a health system is to improve health of the patient and improve health system inefficiencies. In this case, the patient are re-telling their health problem to every health professional since there is no system in place to store all personal data of each patient together (Harris, 2016). The improvement of this would help address on the inefficiencies which have exists for long. It is anticipated that the new system would offer the following business benefits to Headspace organization:
SYSTEM VISION DOCUMENT4 Digital health to the patients: It will be much easier how patients would benefits from the new system; since the mental illness patients’ information will be accessible from specific location. This will help that the data is shared much easily between the healthcare professionals (Montgomery, 2017). There is more time with the patients: with the new system implementations there will be much less time when it comes to chasing clinical information investigation, scanning or even chasing referrals(Wasson, 2015). There is better access: with the usage of the new improved system the health care information will be available in one central place and accessed online. this will ensure it can be accessed by the healthcare professionals and at the same time patients could access it in the online platform on their records. Improved safety: In case of emergency situation, the healthcare providers can be able to link up to the new system to access the health data of the patient and be able to address the issue that affects them quickly.
