INTRODUCTION Practices and behaviour of parents have wide impact on their infants in both positive as well as negative manner. Thus, substance abuse is the practices which conduct by parents and have wide impact in negative manner on their infants (Seitz and et. al., 2019). Moreover, substance abuse is related to the harmful as well as hazardous utilisation of psychoactive substances. Here, substances include alcohol, illicit drugs and several others. This report will be going to discuss how substance abuse give impact on parents and their infants relation (Carver and et. al., 2017). Furthermore, it is divided in several sections such asimportanceof topic,researchstrategy andrecognitionof literature,analysing essentials ofliterature as well as implication for child and family health or mental health nursing practices. MAIN BODY Significance of topic Substance abuse is most common practices which founded in 9 out of 10 families and this give major impact on children in negative manner. According to the view pint ofRachel and et. al., 2020 it has been determined that, Parents who are involved in substance use and experience of an SUD result in giving negative impact on children. Along with this, it also results in negative impact on lowering socioeconomic status in society as well as enhancing difficulties within social setting and family functions (CHILDREN LIVING WITH PARENTS WHO HAVE A SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER, 2017).Kids those parents are suffering from SUD are in danger ofexperiencingdirect impacts, for example, parentalabusenessor ignorance, orcollateralimpacts, for example,family facing economical imbalance.Earlier explorations shows that negative impacts of parent SUDs may create impact on kids of SUD parents that is may lead to illegal medication.In addition to this,on the basis of Survey on Drug Use and Health at national level from 2009 to 2014, it has been determinedthat about more than 8 million children of age limit not more than 17 are residingin house with at least one such parent had substance abuse. There are several practices which parents do with children after consumption of substance and these have negative impact on children. explanation of these are as follows :- •Negativism –Bascially it refers to the tendancy to be negative in attitude which leads to disappointment.The normal state of mind of the family units are unhappy and negative, so positive aspects even didn't get noticed.In such families, the best way to reduce negative impact is to create happy and positive enviornment in the near surroundings to make familes feel better(Kazemi and et. al., 2017).This cynicism will help in strengthen the substance misuse. •Irregularity of Parents– Rules are not followed, requirement is conflicting, and family structure is insufficient.Youngesters are facing problem in identifying what is good and what is band for them. Accordingly, they may carry expectation of getting their limits characterized(Milligan, Meixner and Usher,2017). Without knowing nature, kids can't anticipate parental reactions on particular situation and change their conduct as per requirments.These irregularities will in general be available whether or not the individual abuse substances is a parent or childerns and they make a feeling of disarray—a key factor—in the kids. •Miscarried expression of anger - Kids or guardians who dislike their sincerely denied home and are reluctant to communicate their shock use sedate maltreatment as one approach to deal with their subdued displeasure(Groenman, Janssen and Oosterlaan, 2017). •Self‐medication - Either a parent or youngster will utilize medications or liquor to adapt to horrendous contemplations or sentiments, for example, serious nervousness or misery. Implications for Child and Family Health or Mental Health nursing practice It is important for individual to get proper treatment who are involve in substance abuse so that they can come out of it as well as get treated in effective manner so that better outcomes will gain in effective manner. There are several nursing practices in relation of child and family health which individual require explanation of these are as follows :- •It is important firstly to make aware individual that what negative impact substance consumption have so they try to avoid it(Maguire-Jack and Showalter, 2016).
Because they get aware about it negative impact on their health as well as also on relation with family members. •In addition to this, it is important to involve patient in medication so they will able to focus on treatment in effective manner as well as medicines will result in gaining positive outcomes along with medication. •Most important is that particular person who are involve in substance abuse should have to get involve in other activities which provide assistance in overcoming with substance consumption(Kuppens and et. al., 2020). These activities are medication, yoga, gym, gaming and several other activities which are effective for individual. These are major nursing practices which provide assistance in overcoming with situation of substance abuse in effective manner and positive outcomes will gain in better manner(Rusby and et. al., 2018). Although, it is important to select suitable nursing practices so that patient will get improve their condition in effective manner. In simple term it can be said that, there are numerous children who are going through substance abuse and it is important to take major step in relation of same so that better outcomes will gain in effective manner. CONCLUSION After going through overall discussion, it has been concluded that for parents it is important to maintain good atmosphere at home as well as behave in positive manner within children. Because negative behaviour as well as in appropriate practices within infants result in developing negative behaviour of children.
