MENTAL HEALTH STATUS OF REFUGEES Identify a suitable research methodology to address the research aim Introduction The main focus of the assignment 1 is to investigate and determine the factors that cause mental disorder among the refugees, programs and actions that need modification in order to solve these problems and barriers that could be faced in the context of providing mental support. The methodology could be used in this research would be the mixed research methodology. Mixed methodology is one of the common method of research that includes the data collection, data analysis and integrating both quantitative and qualitative research (McCusker & Gunaydin, 2015). The following section will describe the methodology of the research along with the data collection method, sampling and ethical consideration of research. Methodology Mixedmethodologyhastheintegratedconsiderationofthequantitativeandthe qualitative research methods in a single research topic. This method includes the quantitative data collection method that is the survey, experiments and also the qualitative data collection that is the interview, target group analysis and other factors as well (McKim, 2017). This research method helps the researchers in depth analysis of the factors that affects the research topic or has vast impact on the research topic. The mixed methodology helps in the deep investigation of the problems and helps in finding a better outcome for the problem as it focuses on both the qualitative and the quantitative aspect of the research topic. Thus this can be stated as the perfect method in order to analyse the factors affecting the mental health status of refugees and the modification of actions to solve the problem along with the barriers of solving the problem.
MENTAL HEALTH STATUS OF REFUGEES Assumptions The mixed methodology is a useful research method that properly supports the aims of this study and it allows the researcher in understanding, discovering and explaining the concept and the aim as well. This methodology would be helpful in the assumptions of the researchers on the basis of the data collected in the context of non-understandable experiences and facts. Conceptual framework Mixed methodology would be helpful in the data collection process in both qualitative and quantitative way. Thus it helps in the collection of statistical data as well as the views of the participants in the context of the topic and also finds an idea for the research aim. This methodology would also helpful in the assumption of non-understandable facts of the data collected on the basis of the views of the participants in the interview process. Thus it leads to a better outcome for the researchers and the aspect of ethical research is integrated in this methodology which requires proper management as well. The outcome of the research procedure based on this methodology is quite helpful in the manner of data collection and data analysis of the particular concept. This methodology is also helpful in the process of the data analysis of differentiated ideologies of the participants and also analyses the amount of people residing for which ideology.

The research methodology of mixed data collection method also require the face to face
MENTAL HEALTH STATUS OF REFUGEES interview process and it would be helpful in the manner of gathering information about the experiences of the participants and the view point of them about the concept of the research. It also helps the researchers to have the knowledge about the engagement of these participants in the world communities wherever they live in their life span and also helps the process of the knowledge development about the thought process about the participants in the context of the fact of the research. On the other hand the survey would help the researcher to get a better idea of the situations based on the aims of the research and also to determine the fact of the research is positively effective or negatively effective among the participants. The interviews also have the aspect of the in depth idea development on the facts and the aims of the research (Palinkas et al., 2015). Sampling The sampling method which would be utilized in this research is namely the random sampling method. This method would be targeting the participants without any discrimination of age and gender. This sampling method would target any person from the targeted community along with the further people whether having idea of the situation or not and assess the data collected from them in order to gain an idea. This sampling method would allow the researcher to gather information from Government or other organizational personnel who would be interconnected with the concept of the research. However, the participants would be recruited randomly to gain information about the knowledge of people about the situation (Dobson, Woller-Skar & Green, 2017).
MENTAL HEALTH STATUS OF REFUGEES Ethical consideration In terms of the data collection method that is the mixed data collection method it is needed to be surveyed among participants and interviewed them as well. Thus the ethical consent is needed to be considered seriously in the process (Van Bogaert et al., 2017). Ethical consideration would include the ethics application would be submitted to the Research Ethics Office and the approval would be collected. In the period of the interview the consent form the participants would be needed to be obtained in order to progress the interview process. All these ethical factors would be done in a honest manner to build a proper relationship with the participants and gather proper information about the research fact. Recruitment This study targets the refugees of the world and thus the researcher needs to converse with the target population and also build a relationship with them with the help of the Government consent and recruit a random sample for the survey and interview process in regard to the research aims. Method The interview process of the respondents would be done through the use of open-ended questions. These open-ended questions would help the respondents to open up about their feelings and emotions about the condition. This kind of interviewing process is known as the semi-structured interview and this kind of interview helps in the trust and relationship build up between the respondent and the interviewer (Maxwell, 2016). However, as a mixed methodology it also include the survey process which accordingly done through a close-ended questionnaire with the questions about quantitative approach. This part of the methodology would help in the

MENTAL HEALTH STATUS OF REFUGEES knowledge gaining of statistical data. This data analysis would need 6 to 8 weeks and the data analysis process would need at least 4 weeks. Data collection process Trust and relationship build up between the interviewer and the respondent is a very important aspect which can be gained by the honesty and openness of the interviewer. The honesty and the consent of respecting the privacy of the respondent would be the factors that help the respondents to be open towards the interviewer. The factor of non-judgmental approach and active listening would also be the helpful factors for this qualitative data collection method. On the other hand the honesty and the openness about the survey would also help the researcher to get the respondents participating in the survey (Halcomb & Hickman, 2015). Summary The whole methodology of the research is based on the aims of the research and the methodology would comprise of both the qualitative and the quantitative data collection and analysis process. This methodology would help the researchers in developing knowledge about the problems and the facts of the research concept. Data collection method would be dependent on the ethical and honesty consideration that would help the researcher to gain trust of the respondents and open up towards them and answer the questions properly. Sampling process would comprise of random sampling that would help in the data collection about different aspects and the aims of the research.
