Justin Trudeau
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's Christmas message highlights diversity and Canadians'
reputation for being helpful, warm, compassionate and generous year round, and not just during
the holidays.
In his statement released Sunday, a day before Christmas Day, Trudeau also encouraged
Canadians to build on the country's 150th birthday celebrations in 2017 by continuing to make a
difference in 2018.
"In 2017, people across Canada gave us much reason to be proud, and showed us the strength in
our diversity. Canadians are neighbours helping neighbours, sharing warmth, compassion, and
generosity — not just at Christmas, but year round.
"As the 150th anniversary of Confederation draws to a close, all of us have a role to play in
shaping our world for the better," the Liberal leader said. "In the new year, and throughout the
years to come, let's commit to making a difference. Whether by lending a hand to a neighbour, or
volunteering for a cause we believe in, let's give generously, and live out the values that bring us
together."
Let's also reach out and listen — to those next door, across the aisle, and at the dinner table," his
message said. "Building a better world starts where we work and live, in our communities, and at
home."
"During the holidays, I also ask you take a moment to remember our brave service women and
men, and their families. They make extraordinary sacrifices to keep us safe."
1. High level review
The message is good in terms of how the prime minister have been very kind in the way he is
putting forward his words. However, there is a lack of charismatic confidence in the way he is
providing the message. He is talking about diversity and needed to provide few other examples
of inter-religious cooperation. He is very formal in his tone. This is quite alright in some of the
cases, however, at times it gets too much personal. The message should have been from the
administration and government of Canada to its citizens. However, Trudeau makes it more
formal.

Bad News
Two destructive impulses distort media coverage of far too many major – and minor – events.
And both of these instincts were on powerful display in the recent distortions involving a non-
violent, Lincoln Memorial exchange between pro-life, Catholic high school boys from
Covington, Kentucky and activists representing “Indigenous Peoples” and “Black Israelites.”
First, reporters tend to blame conservatives for anything that goes wrong, even when there’s
scant evidence to back them up. Second, the media almost always exaggerate anything that does
goes wrong. Any problem — from the environment, to the economy, to the political system to
schools and even foreign relations — automatically becomes a catastrophe.
The idea is that the public will pay more attention if you can make them worried or scared: the
news business becomes the bad news business, promoting an unduly pessimistic view of our
country and the world.
2. High-level review
The problem that can be seen in the message is its difficulty in dissemination of the message.
The message uses a lot of very difficult words. In essence, the message needs to be read more
than once to get a proper idea of the subject of the message. The message also at times uses a lot
of aggressive opinions against the workings of the news media. The message need to be
simplified in order to provide a better perspective.

Sean Hannity
“I'm not as concerned as some other conservatives if the president signs the bill, but there are a
couple of ifs,” Hannity told viewers, including his most important one in the White House. “Step
one: The president decides he wants to sign the compromise, which would guarantee the $1.375
billion down payment for the wall, OK, that money can be used immediately.”
“Now if he takes step two, which is the president utilizing money he’s identified, some $900
million for additional construction, that is already available for the administration's discretion,”
he continued. “That would be about $2.3 billion, but the important third step needs to happen
simultaneously.”
“And that would be the president would need to declare a national emergency,” Hannity
concluded. “This is the time. That is a necessity. And the president, I think I know him very well,
telegraphed that very thing just today.”
3. High level review
The message is very difficult to decipher. The person providing the message uses a neutral
position for the message. However, there is no conclusion that is provided in regards to the
message. The person should make his stand clear and make the message more effective and
important. It becomes important that he structures the message in a proper way and concussively.
Moreover, at the end of the message the person provides a view that is much confusing as he
states that the president has made a decision for which he gives very less evidence.

-Hence, the news business becomes the bad news business, promoting an unduly pessimistic
view of our country and the world.
5. Detailed review
Sean Hannity
This message requires clear evidence based development of understanding. As pointed
previously the message my Sean Hannity is suffering from the lack of clarity. It is important to
consider that the information being provided is about the president of the United States and need
to be given in a more detailed and formal fashion. Message is for the audiences and should be
clear and concise. Sean Hannity needs to make his point clearer by providing the estimated cost
of building the wall and provide the same in a systematic relatable fashion. He definitely needs
to be more neutral as at the end he provides quite a lot of biasness towards the decision of
Donald trump. The message need to be given in a fashion that the audiences have no problem in
understanding the standpoint of the speaker.
