Organization Functions There are different operational departments in Tesco PLC. All these departments are allocated with specific function. By working together these functional departments can improve the performance of organization in global market(Cameron, 2015.). These functional department of organization use different communication techniques to work effectively to full fill market goals of company. Marketing-The function of marketing department in Tesco PLC is to plan and perform different activities to improve performance of company in global market. This is one of most important function of company. Marketing department perform different type of market and consumer research to get information of current market place(Chang, 2016). Role of marketing department in Tesco PLC to increase the sales of company by perform different activities that includes promotions, communication with consumer and planning promotion strategy to improve the position of company in the target market. Finance-The role of finance department in Tesco PLC is to manage all the operations that are associates with transaction and transfer of money.Some of most important function of finance department in organization is to perform planning, auditing, accounting and organizing fund in company(Chang and Teng, 2017). The main role of finance department is to communicate with other operational department of company to prepare current and future budget for company to manage fund with in organization and keep organization running in profit. Operation and Production-This is one of the most important function of organization. The role of operation and production department is to maintain continuity of actions to keep organization productive(Shambaugh, 2017). In Tesco PLC the work of operation department is to manage the working and operation of employees to perform required actions that are important to maintain continuity in production and services. It is their responsibility to ensure the consumer satisfaction by providing them with effective product with high quality(Egeberg, Gornitzka and Trondal, 2016). By this then can increase loyal consumer base to improve performance of company in global market. In this process they communicate with marketing and finance department to manage their actions effectively. Human Resources-Human Resource department of Tesco PLC manages the people that are associated to the organization with their personal interests(Seigler, 2015). Their work is to improve success, stability and growth of organization by managing work force and operations of
company. The main role of HR in organization is to manage the employees and their work to keep company productive with higher performance in target market(Shin, D. and Konrad, 2017). HRM also manage the employee life cycle in company to manage talent in company to maintain performance of company in target market. They perform and plan recruitment & selection, induction, training & development, manage reward and appraisal of employees to keep them motivated and dedicated to company (Frankel and Mollenkopf, 2015). All the functional department of organization are interconnected with each. Their action and objectives are connected to each other(Lam and Sherman, 2015). This is important for organizationtomanagecoordinationbetweenthesedepartmentstomaintainoperational efficiency of company High. To provide better experience to consumer it is important to keep each department effective in operation. Summery This report is providing brief of different functional department of Tesco PLC and their role in the performance and productivity of company. The role if departments like Marketing, Human Resource, Finance and Operation & Production has been analysed in order to know their importance in working of company. An analysis has been performed on Tesco PLC to know the importance of cooperative and coordinative working of operational departments to know its impact on performance of organization in the target market.
