INTRODUCTION
People management is the activity in which managers provide satisfaction to workers of
company by giving rewards . In the twenty-first century, handling personnel has become the
most critical feature because employees are seen as the precious resource. To maintain the
healthy relation in organisation line manager perform various functions. The organisation that
was selected under this project is Sainsbury’s. It was founded in the year 1869 by John James. It
is stands in second position in retailing industry. The chief executive officer of the company is
Simon Roberts. The supermarket involves various items in thjeir stores such as food , clothing,
footwear, stationary, grocery etc. The topics that on which discussions are made in this report are
problems that managers face when it deals to people management. Also what qualities must be
involved to become effective managers are also explain in the assignment. HR process are also
discuss in the project (Shet, 2020)

Discuss the contemporary issues faced by line management when it comes to people
management
In Modern Era, in every organisation whether it is big or small HR plays most crucial
role But the only difference is that there is existence of great difference between tradition
al HR functions and in current functioning. Changes in the work market, consumer
preferences, regulatory challenges, and regulations have compelled front-line managers
to devise effective methods for handling the organization's employees. In today's
corporate world, managing employees is not an easy task. When there is need to make
control over employees , line managers as well as management team of the business
entity experience a number of challenges. As a result, it is critical to consider current
human resource challenges in order to maximise the value of the organization's most
important resource. Below are some of the current challenges that real-life organisations
in the United Kingdom are dealing with (Rao, 2020)
