1 Introduction
Organizational leadership refers to the management approach that helps in achieving the best for
the individuals along with the groups in an organization. Organizational leadership can be said to
be a work ethic that helps in empowering the individuals of the organization. This report throws light
on the various kinds of the leadership styles that exist in an organization. The report also discusses
about various aspects of the management in an organization. The report also talks about how the
leaders can make use of the element of the social influence that can help an organization in
attaining the success.
2 Overview of Organizational Leadership
2.1 Leadership styles in organization

discusses about the emergence of various kinds of leadership styles in the present age that is
beyond the transformational and the transactional framework of the leadership. The article has

charismatic leaders exudes the passion along with the self-confidence that can help in the

2.2 Organizational Leadership and Communication
The article, “Leadership: The Management of Meaning” discusses how leadership can be exercised
in the process when the individuals are able to define reality of the other people. The article has
stated how the unstructured leaderless groups evolve the common modes pertaining to the
interpretation that helps them in evolving into the social organization. According to Smircich and
Morgan (1982, p. 259 ), leadership can be said to be a social phenomena that is constructed with
the help of the interaction. The roles help in institutionalizing interactions which helps in shaping
reality of that of the organizational life. The patterns of the formal interaction helps in
institutionalizing aspects in relation to the leadership process within context of the unified structure.
The article states that the actions of the leader can pave the path for the generation of various
kinds of the interpretations that can help in setting the basis in relation to the meaningful action.
The effective leadership is dependent on framing of experience of other people that helps the
actions in being guided by the common conceptions. The main challenge that a leader faces

stories that are told by the leader can prove to be crucial for an organization. The leader can make
use of words, images along with the symbolic actions that can help them in structuring the attention

amount of control over situations that are being managed in a company. The people who are in the
leadership roles should make use of interpretation that can help them in understanding a situation
before they initiate the actions. The image of the leader can be hegemonic and it can also be
charismatic who indulges himself in mesmerizing the followers. The individuals can look to the
leader for framing and concretizing the reality and they can also react and change the state of the
reality. The article discusses that the leaders get their power from ability of defining the ability of
defining the other people and their inability of controlling the people paves the path for
disorganization within the framework of an organization.
2.3 Leadership as a social process

that the leaders influence the activities of the organized group so that the goal can be achieved.
Leadership can be said to be a social influence process that helps a person in steering members of
group towards that of a goal. It has been argued by Bryman (2013, p. 7), that leadership can be
said to be differentiated from the concept of power as leadership can be stated to be an influence
process that helps in changing the preferences of the other people. A crucial component in relation
to the leadership behaviour is the use of the rewards along with the penalties that can guide the
other people in an organization. The opportunity that the leader has in relation to encouraging and
criticizing are affected by the power that he has within an organization. The organizational policies
also have influence on the aspect of the leadership in an organization. The managers can be said
to be the reactive organization men whereas the leaders adopt an active attitude towards that of the
goals. Influence that is exerted by a leader helps in altering the moods and evoking the images that
helps in the determination of direction of a business. The article has stated that leadership helps in
entailing creation of the vision regarding the future that can prove to be of great use for the growth
of an organization. The leader should act as a social architect who can help in shaping the culture
prevailing within the boundaries of an organization. It can help in the transmission of the norms
along with the values that can help in creating a bond in between the employees of a company.
Leadership can be said to be a transactional approach that acts as influence process that is two-
way. The article has argued regarding the fact that leader is dependent on the other members of an
