EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The experiment focuses on the optical fiber. The objectives of the experiment are to
determine the characteristic of the laser diode, obtain the optical fiber measurements and loss or
attenuation value from the experiment. The introduction section covers the overview of the
optical fiber. The procedure of how the experiment was carried out illustrates the equipment used
for a fiber patch cord of 785 nm wavelength. The output optical power is detected and recorded
for data analysis. Further, the laser safety information is discussed and used during the
experiment.
