Introduction
Academic skills mean the core skills which help the students to attend their career
objective in an effective manner. This includes writing, presentation and references. When the
students want to secure their challenging position in a reputed organisation then they need to
expand their learning knowledge and skills in order to secure their career opportunities with the
help of different training programs (Aguilar and et. al., 2021). This is a reflective commentary
assessment which discusses what I have learnt, challenges, setbacks, success and opportunities.
Further, the feedback received from different sources which help in developing the plan in order
to achieve the career objective in an effective manner. The reflective summary is discussed with
the help of Gibbs model.
Main body
Gibbs reflective cycle was published in the year of 1988. This model helps the people in
order to determine certain things which they have learnt from the different situations and their
experience. Gibbs cycle model is discussed below:
Description: at the first instance the student must describe the situation which relates to
what he wants to know and what happens (Brooks, 2019). At this stage There are several
questions which must be asked by themselves such as what happened, what they want to
do, what did other people do and many other questions.
Feelings: second step talks about what the individual has felt at the first stage during their
experience and encourages them to avoid commenting on their emotions.
Evaluation: this stage talks about what the individual needs to encourage in order looking
objective about what they are approaching to do to you and what other peoples are doing
(Casc and et. al., 2019). The students must have a positive image with respect to their
situation; this helps them to contribute in an effective manner.
Conclusion: once they have evaluated the situation then they can draw conclusions about
what actually happened, whether it has a positive or a negative impact on everyone and
many other things.
